The TJ's Fuel pump started playing up .... I searched around for a new one , they are available, some cheaper than others ..... In South Africa new ones are available at an horrendous price, second hand ones are dubious ..... Dropped the tank, removed the pump "housing" removed the pump from the housing and took it to an Auto Spares store , later walked out with an identical pump (Bosch) for approximately US$20. fitted it ... worked perfectly for a week..... then the TJ died....... removed the tank again !!! the fuel hose I used had turned to goo , and slipped off the pump ( Keeping in mind I needed to destroy the original pipe to remove the pump) did a bit more research ... the pipe I used was fuel resistant inside but not outside !! got some PTFE piping .... fitted it ... now back on the road.

A learning curve for sure but saved a load of money .....

I carry a spare fuel pump in a plastic jar under my seat for just such an auspicious occasion.

There's a write up in resources on how to take apart the fuel pump assembly and replace individual components.

I followed those instructions but ran into two issues...the Bosch pump I sourced from Amazon died in a week...and two, my plastic pump cage was brittle and breaking. Eventually used a cheap BrutePower assembly.
