Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ engine mounts

TJ over it's head in water (still drove it home!)

Very cool video - it's not every day you capture the events leading up to such a random thing happening like that!

Impressive story about your winch. I've had a hydraulic winch for about 15 years and this is one of many reasons why I would prob go electric if I had to do it over again. Not because I submerge my Jeep, but bc you can self-recover even when it's shut off.

Make that a cargo container of rice.

I just pulled all my electrical harnesses out and back in for a frame and tub swap... you've got a lot of work to do.

When you pull the dash you might want to strip it to the subframe and paint it. Just enough places it pokes out that a nice satin black makes better.

And don't forget to check your axles and breather tubes.

Well, one thing for sure. A rig running a snorkel, and actually using the snorkel…

There seems to be a lot of hate on here for snorkels, but for those of us that don't off road in the desert they have their uses.

I would suggest, amongst other things, opening up you starter motor. I sat in some water above the starter moyor a while back, then six weeks later starter gave up the ghost. Think it would have been ok if I had pulled it and dried it out.

👍 Something I'll check out!

Yup, I've used the crap out of that Apex, nothing to complain about so far! Everyone back on the bank up the creek was shocked when they saw me pulling it up out of the water... I'm thinking within 3-5 mins... they were still getting gear together to come rescue me! lol.. I wish I had an overview video of the whole thing from start to finish!

I actually use it quite a bit... passing through water lol... not soaking in it though! There's a lot of cynicism concerning snorkels lol... I was walking in Tractor Supply one day and "dude" snips..."Why you have that snorkel on there for? Probably never even used it!" So I showed him the vid attached below, he just shut up and went inside...

I still don't know why I was in such a rush... every other time I either followed someone through the deep stuff or got out and waded through first.

Here's my video of the Ozark High Water Trail... sooo much fun! Ozark Adventure - High Water Trail

I really want a self leveling camera holder...like a globe weighted on the bottom...put a insta360 camera on it and when shit happens turn it on and throw it on the ground.

It's really hard to film when shit goes south.

It's easier when there's a large group...clearly everyone has a plan so I'll just shut up and film.

My group loves the water stuff. It's fun until its not, and even then it's still fun unless its YOUR jeep that needs the periscope.

I would love to do that Buffalo River stuff in your video. You planning on doing that again some time?

That's the problem with snorkels. Most people only see them during the 99% time period when they're not being useful.
Thing is you can't slap one on at the last second for the 1% time period when you do need one.
