For starters, I have a 1997 TJ Sport that I purchased used back in late Summer/early Fall of 2007. Ever since then there's been more than a few ideas I've had that I'm possibly still waiting for the World to catch up on and produce. I'm hoping that somebody out there has had similar ideas (and better fabrication skills than myself) and actually made at least something similar to what I've been looking for.
So, here's to hoping:
1) A wind blocker/tonneau combination that is ONE piece. In the warmer months I like to run with a TrektopNX sans windows and either a tonneau cover or a C-Res. Lacking a garage it would be nice to have a one piece cab "rear" and deck cover. Tried having the local upholstery shop cobble together a wrap around wind blocker with a tonneau cover but it ended up leaking where the two pieces came together at the front pillars of the roll bar. I've seen the Bestop Half Top, but I'm not certain yet if it would fit the role of what I'm looking for.
2) Speaking of tonneau covers, is there anyone, any where, that has ever seen or built a one piece non-fabric one? I've never sat down with a pencil and paper to try to figure out how to get around the rear roll bar pillars but I have always liked the idea of a cover that reached to floor behind the front seats, went all the way back to the tail gate, and had raise-able lid on top along with access when the tail gate was open. Possibly sit on top of the tub sides like a hard top.
I realize to potentially many people either or both those ideas probably sound silly. I'm used to it. Any ideas, suggestions, or even directions to something close to what I tried to describe would be greatly appreciated.
