Ok I have an issue with my Jeep were it shuts down wile driving and sometimes it doesn’t want to start. I have found what may be a temporary fix in that if I pump the gas it will eventually throttle up and stay running. I have also replaced the throttle position sensor and fuel pump. This short video is of the problem. As you can see it just doesn’t want to stay running but I can get it to run by pumping the gas over and over quickly till it jumps to 3000 rpm and runs normally after that. It will do the same thing while I’m driving. I have a manual so it keeps driving and if I pump the gas it will come back to life same as in the video. Also there are no trouble codes.

What code is being thrown? I always carry a cheap obd2 reader with me wherever I go. Even better is to get a bluetooth reader that works with your cellphone. You get live time information and a whole world of info for you to obsess over.

No trouble codes and the battery is good. I used a pump from Oreilly. I thought I could be a fuel problem as well but If that is the case why is it a happen randomly. This issue is not consistent at all some days it doesn’t happen at all and I have never had it happen more than three times no mater how long I drive.

Is it possible you are getting an intermittent grounding or something that is shutting you down? Perhaps worn out ignition switch? Just a spitball idea...

do you
