Ouray trip last week.
Tons of photos. Ran into an issue with the front diff after three days so had to rent a JL…

Thankfully I had trailered the LJ as 1400 mile return trip would have been very bad.

We went and did a pretty trail last weekend.
Not hard but fun and has an area at the middle where the kids did some driving.
It’s Pickle Gulch, up past Blackhawk.
We got done right as the cold front came thru.

Sadly since out fire in Sept the trees in the picture are no longer there. Almost 50K acres burnt. Roads were supposed to open back up Nov 30. I’m going to try to get up there later this week.
Is that somewhere in big bear @bucky? I happened to be wheeling up there the weekend the fire broke out.
The fire (Line Fire) was South of Big Bear. The Ahole started it in Highland and it ran along the foothills and to the East. I saw it when it started while heading to my shop at about 6pm. The air tanker base is around 2 miles from the start but they did not have enough time before dark to drop much. I watched it move to the east from my shop door for a week.. The area that burned is my local place to get away as it’s only a 15 min drive for me. It ran until it hit the Eldorado fire (Baby Reveal) which burned 22K acres and killed 1 firefighter. That one started 4 years almost to the day in 2020. The dad that started that went to jail for 2 yrs and fined $2mil. Luckily they caught the Ahole and he gets a long prison sentence.
Coincidently in Oct my insurance carrier informed me that they will not renew my policy for the shop when it expires next year.
