To stubby or not to stubby?

Attached are a couple of current pictures. I've been pondering the idea of chopping the ends off the bumper to make it a stubby... What do you all think? Leave it as is? Or cut it? Don't say buy a stubby bumper because purchasing one is not in the budget at the moment.

Found out last week why a stubby is not always the best choice.

Brushing a trail a tree got behind the factory bumper and inside the tire. It took a bite out of the metal fender and broke the plastic flare. Me, I will never need to press the front tire to a rock and climb it but I see trees every time I go off road.

Build it for what you do. Next job will be to fabricate a bumper extension to "protect" the body. Only have photos of the repair... never really wanted a record of the damage.

Yeah trail damage is always a bummer.
But as you can see in my pictures, I've trimmed my fenders dang near off lol, I don't know I'm just on the fence about it. Thanks for the input guys, I'll post pictures if I do decide to get to cutting.
