I'm not the tallest guy, but I'm also not the shortest. One thing I do know is that with a 4" lift on the TJ, it's a pain in the butt trying to work under the hood and actually get to things.

I got turned onto this a few months back, and I'm 100% sold on it! I use it all the time now and it's one of the best shop tools you can own for a lifted vehicle, hands down!

Who else uses one of these things?

Interesting! I’ve seen these before but never talked to anyone who used one.

For access to the sides of the engine compartment I’ve had a pair of these since the 70’s when I worked in a dealership.

Alltrade 647596 Truck Tire Service Step, Fits up to 13-Inch Deep Tires https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002Q8TWI/?tag=wranglerorg-20

I’m 6’ 2” and I still use the steps on my 1/2 ton, 4wd, Dodge truck.

Your topside creeper would be something I’d almost want to try before buying one and dedicating the floor space for storage. Does it fold up decent for storage?

Yep, it folds up to save space, which is also a must. I think it's a great way to work on the engine without straining yourself.

I've seen those steps you linked to as well, and those also look like a good solution. I'm only 5'9, so at 5" of lift on my TJ, I really need something like this.

I'd need one of those with and extension on it...at 5ft 4 (and three quarters lol ) I make Umpa Lumpa's look tall haha
Now all I need is something to make my arms longer too and I'd be set. :D
