Does anyone have recommendations on a quality torx bit set? I'm tired of snapping the cheap HF ones in my tool cabinet.

Stay away from Ryobi then, I like their tools oaky, meh, but their bits really suck and break very easily.

For me, Torx bits and Alan bits (I did that deliberately, Ryan...) are worth spending some money on if you use them with any frequency. I was always breaking those things, especially the smaller ones. All of mine are now Snap-On and I've not broken a single one. That said, they are crazy expensive. SK makes good sets as well.

I ordered this one off Amazon a couple weeks ago mainly because I needed the T55 for my front bumper bolts and the Craftsman set I’ve had has served me well. I haven’t used this set in the link enough yet to give a good analysis. I don’t use torx a lot but for sockets and wrenches I tend to shy away from Harbor Freight stuff. Their quality is usually pretty subpar. I try to at least get Craftsman or better, for home use it works well enough. Although I do seem to have a reoccurring issue with their 3/8 drive ratchets locking up. It’s happened twice now, but if you file a claim they’ll send you a new one.

Amazon set: WORKPRO 13-piece Torx Bit Socket Set T8-T60, S2 Steel(For Hand Use Only) https://a.co/d/4599e4A

I have a Tekton set off amazon. I've abused them pretty badly on some rusted roll bar bolts, but they only bent the flutes a little bit. I have not snapped one and I have not been gentle.

Snap on. Cornwell any of the ones that replace tools. You pay a bunch for them but they replace them easily. I’ve got a Cornwell set that when I removed my tailgate broke four of them. I leave the broken one in the cup holder and when I see the truck I catch the new one.

For the amount of time I use torx bits I'm not willing to pay the nearly $500 price tag for Snap On. I ended up ordering two sets to experiment with that include:

After the post @TJ Jim made, I looked at Cornwell. They have a truck bed set that ranges from 40 - 55

They also have a regular set that doen't give the size range

funny you say that, I have broken quite a few I have doubles of the sizes I use a lot. I used them professionally and occasionally with a impact. they are expensive but the warranty can't be beat.

I have a set of torx sockets from Autozone I bought when I got my first Jeep in 2006, I was just out of high school and needed to get a few things done. But they have been the most used and longest sockets in my box.

Not that it helps, but sometimes cheap easily sourced tools can surprise you. I have mostly craftsman otherwise, but having bought some recent craftsman tools, you can see the quality is GONE! I recently got a ratcheting breaker bar from craftsman and just setting it on the ground and general use the chrome is all scuffed, all the paint scraped off the black lever. JUNK. Used the handle to slightly bent a heat shield And it’s all scuffed.

Kobalt seems to be good, I got a small set for traveling on the road.

Also, harbor freight is trying to impress with their “ICON” line. I bought a ratchet to sample, works good, tight and a good tooth count.
