Toyota H4 headlight kit heads up

I wanted a spare kit for my 06 TJ, so the other day I ordered off your link to Hendrick Toyota. Not bad, total of 37 dollars shipped to Colorado.

Today, I got a call from Brandon at Hendrick and he wanted to know " what the hell was going on" Seems he was given a huge load of orders for this kit, and he began to read off the order times which varied from 30 seconds to a few minutes apart. He read off at least 15 or so. I had to interrupt him and told him about the Jeep mod for the lights.

Guess he thought some scam was going on with the close time orders and the multi state requests. Got some laughs in with him, and then he said well, it don't matter, your backordered. :ROFLMAO: No ETA on it, so I left the order in. No big deal, it was the funniest call I've had today.

Ray

I spoke him today….pretty sure we made his week, he saw who I was based on caller ID and said we don’t sell to Jeep owners and who put part #s on the forums again! Then told me they have 20+ on back order and to sit tight.

Some observations: The glass is flat so not exactly period but I like it anyways. At this price it's worth buying another kit just to have the wiring harnesses for another H4 vehicle conversion to 100 watt lamps, the Bus Depot ones are curved but they don't come with lamps or harnesses and the price of these kits is less than a harness upgrade in most cases.
Going to try and install mine tomorrow.

I'm also in Tucson. Let me know if I can help.

Hahahaha, I guess it sucks when they have to work a little bit 🤣 🤣 ...ooops, hope he doesn't look up our forum :ROFLMAO:

Here's the '02 TJ FSM section on headlight adjustment:

I, too, used this thread as an excuse to buy the kit.

My dealer (Camelback Toyota in PHX) emailed me and said they were out of stock but they had them en route and would be there in 1-2 business days. We shall see.

My price out the door was a ridiculously low $24. The unit itself was $17 and tax and a $5 local pickup fee made up the rest. If the kit shows up without lights and with just the harness i will feel i still got win lol

Edit: It's gone.

I have 2 kits coming tomorrow. I have already done the relay/harness upgrade with my headlights but will keep one harness as a spare. I do not need tge second harness. Free for the cost of shipping.

I just ordered two sets a couple days ago from a local dealer, waiting for the call when they arrive.
Anybody have any issues with the install?

Nope super easy install. Just decide where you want the relays and the fuses.

I ziptied the relays to the bar next to the air filter. Working fantastic.

My install went great and after a new headlight switch they are working great. I went to align them tonight and they were dead on.

I am reading through the older thread on these and some have installed the Hella 80/100 lamps and I wonder if those who have are getting flashed with them? I was thinking of getting 55/100s because in the city I don't really need 80 watts on low beam but I'd take it f it doesn't bother oncoming traffic, not going to be that guy. The high beams I want as bright as possible since those are never used when there is oncoming traffic.

I ran the 80/100 and never got flashed. If you align them properly there should no reason you’re blinding oncoming traffic.

Running 80100s cut off is very good.

I ordered Hella 80/100s from Amazon, they sent 55/60s. Returned them and ordered again. They sent 55/60s again. Ordered and got 55/100s for now.

I'm 4" on 35s, so I took mine to my mechanic to aim my 80/100s. Never been flashed. I live in town so, with street lights and traffic, I feel I need the 80s on low. I'll never look back. I even bought a 2nd kit to put in my wife's 99 Camry and she said she's never been able to see so well (plus now I have 2 spare lenses!!!)
