Yeah, I have an '08 Grand Cherokee that has it. Fully electronic controls, you can lock it to whatever gear you want. Not really a manual shift feature, it just won't shift past whatever gear you have selected. My GC has 138k miles and no problems with it.
And while it does use torx bolts the design is kinda cool. The bolts sit beside the pan, not through it. There's a little clip thingy attached to the bolt that grabs the edge of the pan and applies upward pressure. Which means the gasket is solid all the way around, the bolts don't go through it.
