Transporting a TJ hardtop

The wheel wells in most full size trucks are spaced so that a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood will fit flat on the floor. The tub rails on the TJ (and therefore the width of the hard top) are much wider than that. With careful measurements you might find that it can fit forward or behind the wheel wells but I doubt it. It can be done for sure, just probably not flat on the floor.

I’m not sure of your situation, but could you keep it on the TJ to transport it where it needs to go? Or drive with a soft top and remove the soft top at the destination if you’re picking up a hard top.

Yeah just turn it sideways, works great. I put the windshield side of the top on the passenger side of the bed, then ran a strap down the driver side of the bed around the inside of the top just to keep it from tipping if that makes sense.

Strap it down and don't do like the one guy on here did and drove one home without it being bolted down to the TJ.... Well he nearly got home with it.

You don't want it moving around in the back of the truck....
