New front diff cover for my Dana 30. I bought Poison Spyder diff covers when I first bought the Jeep when it went in for gears and lockers. Nearly every time I come home from wheeling the cover was loose and would leak a little bit and I finally had enough. And with sticking to the theme I accented it PURPLE!!!

Also I ordered some PRP harnesses with a RockHard Harness bar to go behind the seats. I was planning to run this for a short while, but they are really uncomfortable with the stock seats, plus my seats are 20 years old.

So today I bit the bullet and finally ordered the PRP seats I’ve been wanting for a while. In hindsight it’s good I waited as long as I did because I changed models a few times before finally settling on the GT3. I went with the seat heaters in them as well. They go along well with the Orange and Purple theme I’m going with for the interior.

Isn't the GT3 a UTV seat? What made you choose this seat and how much work will the install be?

Technically it is. The only difference is the mounting tabs. If you specify in the notes that it’s going in a Jeep the install is the same as the daily driver, enduro elite or any Jeep style seats. Structurally they are no different strength/build wise from each other.

I went with the GT3 for a couple reasons. I was looking for 7” of containment, fixed back, and I was able to sit in one at a local store and it felt amazing. It’s the same dimensions as the daily driver so fit shouldn’t be an issue.

I bounced around between several seats. I never really liked the fit of the daily driver. I wanted a little more containment but the comp elite offered a little too much for me.

After several conversations with Jonathan at PRP and browsing through most of their options I settled on the GT3 after I was able to sit in one. They should arrive in a few weeks and once I get them installed for a bit I can give a more in-depth review of them.

I guess it’s been a minute since I’ve updated this. The seats came in from PRP a little over a month ago. They’re comfortable and way more secure. The heated seats were a breeze to wire up and have already come in handy a few times. They make riding with the top off still enjoyable once it starts cooling down in the evenings.

Also finally ordered a motobilt stubby bumper for the front end! Pretty stoked to get the stinger off there and something a little more low profile.

Here are some pictures from my trip to Windrock over Spring Break. I crossed off trail 16, the last of their badge of honor trails.

Then I tried a few of their notable double black diamond trails: trail 15, 45(little mule) and 38(little school bus)

I sliced my driver side rear tire open on the root that is circled in red on the last section of trail 15. I got the spare put on and limped back to camp that evening.

The next day I still wasn’t happy about that so I headed back to trail 15 for some redemption on the spare tire. I usually wouldn’t wheel on the spare, but I decided to send it anyway as it was my last day, and I trailered the Jeep up there.

After cutting out the root that caused the issue, I was able to clean that section with no winching needed. I think headed down little mule which had a pretty sketchy decent followed by a really fun climb that then links you to little school bus. As the name implies it has many large boulders the size of a little school bus trying to hang you up everywhere. I made it through both of those as well without winch and was headed to give Cadillac Hill a try when I heard some clanking underneath and noticed I had lost a bolt on the upper link of my front radius arm. At that point I had no choice but to call it.

All in all a very successful trip to Windrock. Can’t wait to get back up there and try Cadillac Hill!

Sorry a few of the waterfall pics are sideways…

Awesome trip Dude. As close as I am, I’ve never been up there - definitely need to get there this year.
It’s so cool up there. This was only my second time going, but I feel I have a lot better lay of the land… considering it’s 72,000 acres. There is also Tackett Creek and the Sand Mines close by which are like 400k acres. Eastern Tennessee rocks! We’re going again the last weekend of June and have a crew of 6 or 7 of us, if you want to pencil it in.

Definite possibility. Keep me posted.

I may be able to make that weekend, it will depend on my son's schedule which we won't know until it gets closer. Add me to the list of people to keep posted just in case.

Out with the old, in with the new. Tried to touch up the frame a little bit and way oversprayed and got some drips. I’m gonna let it dry and clean it up and try a little better next time. Bumper will be flat black.

Dude. We gotta wheel. To bad Tellico is no longer an option - that would have been half way between us.

How do you like those Razr's?

Jury is still out on them. I really wanted to like them. I’ve sliced two of them. One on I assume a rock(AOP) and one one a root(Windrock) I’m thinking I may have been a little lower on the pressure than I should have ~6psi but I’m still not sure I would have stood a chance against that root regardless of pressure.

I’m gonna keep it closer to the 10 psi range for the next bit and see how they do.

I was able to get them vulcanized and repaired, and they still balanced out alright, but now having 2 flats in a span of about 3 months it will take some time to earn my confidence in them again.

Same here. I have a few slices in the sidewalls. Have not completely trashed one yet, but they are noticeably less tough than my old Krawlers.

Yeah I wish nitto made the trail grappler in a 15” I didn’t really want to do to 17” wheels with a 35, that’s not a lot of sidewall there. If I’m still on 15” wheels for my next set of tires it will probably be a 36x12.50 tsl-SX.
