I also pulled my front shaft. A slight vibe lately and an incredibly faint chirping. The tcase yoke has maybe an 1/8" play in/out. Is that tolerable? The front shaft was rebuilt late last year.
Zero play in the front yoke of the np231 sitting in my garage. The rear does have about an 1/8th though.

The view looks nice for the oil change!

I just ran out and crawled under mine, I can’t force any play on the front end of the TC (my DS is attached ). I don’t know the tolerances, so my shaking may not be anything definitive.

LED question for anyone:

Installed LED bulbs in front turn signals (side markers are still incandescent bulbs), rear and reverse lights are also LED. Flasher relay is an EP26. Everything works great; no hyperflash, hazards work, turn signals don't activate when key is off. However, when the parking lights or headlights are on, the dash turn indicators are both on. Everything still works normally when the parking or headlights are on and the indicators still flash too, just the dash indicators stay lit. What am I missing?

My last 1,657 miles and 107.05 gallons of fuel:

268.8 miles / 16.917 gallons = 15.86 mpg
265.7 miles / 17.248 gallons = 15.40 mpg
216.7 miles / 15.589 gallons = 13.90 mpg
185.5 miles / 12.584 gallons = 14.74 mpg
244.9 miles / 15.306 gallons = 16.00 mpg
219.7 miles / 14.090 gallons = 15.59 mpg
255.7 miles / 16.428 gallons = 15.56 mpg

Averages out to be 15.48 mpg. Not bad for 35s!

What mph?

Swapped in a new centering yoke and enjoyed a glass of blankened bourbon (ages with metallica playing in the background😄). I've experienced a faint chirp, removed the front shaft and it went away. This shaft was rebuilt late last year and pinion is spot on. So not sure what happened...I couldn't find a spicer non greaseable centering yoke so ended up with a neapco. Time will tell how long it lasts

Probably not build thread worthy but I had my interior detailed this afternoon. I dont think I’ve ever seen it this clean before 🤢

I also rebuilt the front driveshaft again. Plan is to take it in on Monday to see if its balanced and straight. The only thing I found even noteworthy was maybe some very minor pitting on the centering stud

So I mentioned rebuilding the driveshaft, before putting it back in I took it to a driveline shop to see if it needed balanced or if it even ran true. They just called me this morning and said the shaft was slightly bent. They've since straightened it and were in the process of balancing. Picking it up this afternoon. Fingers crossed the vibe is gone🤞

LED install. I originally went with 6500 white LEDS in the taillights and front turn signals. I used a new flasher relay but the front turn signal dash indicators stayed on when the lights were on. Then found out you should match the LEDs with the lens color. So I put in new ambers from superbrightlleds and now the turn signals on the dash are off with the lights on, not sure what changed...
