My 2004 Lj automatic has layer of insulation on the inside of the hood. Should I remove it or leave it on?

Pictures? Reason why you'd mess with it? If it's not causing any issues I wouldn't mess with it.

I don't know of any TJ that had OEM insulation. Maybe it's a cold weather package?

Some Canadian and European LJs came with it. Probably others too. It's supposed to reduce noise and heat.

My '04 LJ has the hood insulation from the factory as well. Unless it's falling apart, or you just don't like it, there's no need to remove it. That said, removing it will do no harm. FWIW, out of all the TJs and LJs I've had, only one came with hood insulation.

My 05 LJ had it. One off-road trip and some muddy water and I was never able to get it clean. Pulled it shortly after I bought it.
