California UTC run, January 16th

For those challenged by acronyms, its Uncle Tom's Cabin. Hopefully between now and then we'll get some snow.

The list:
  • UTC run, January 16th.

We can discuss meet up details as the date as the date approaches. Guessing Georgetown is the logical choice?

Georgetown will be best.

I went to UTC on Saturday. Barely any snow there .. few miles up .. 2-3 inches. Hopefully we'll have a snow storm by or during this run.

I’m in NorCal and I’m interested in the run, and I’d like to meet up with some of you folks from the forum.

And if it’s cool to tag along, I have a few questions.

Is it a day trip?

I’m on AT’s, BFG KO2’s, so if it’s snowy, would it be wise to have chains?

Chains? That would remove the ”fun” element. It would be great to meet another forum member.

Show up. I’m leaving Orland so if your heading down 5 we could roll
Day trip
I’m bringing my chains lol
We all have winches so no worries, these SOB’s on mid arms and 35’s can tug us out

Chains on the trail are not needed. Hwy 139, 395, 80 (coming from Reno side) .. depends on the weather.
 
Sounds good. I’ve got a winch and some gear, so I’m good I guess.

I’ll try and get my CB install done before then.

So it’s just day trip food and drink, should I bring anything else?

Hate to sound so noob but I’ve never been to UTC and have no idea what to expect/plan for.

Do you all fill up in Georgetown for the day? Carry extra fuel?

It'll be a day trip. We'll meet up in Georgetown say 9:30 am, gas up. @DrDmoney, do you know the address to the gas station?
Bring lunch and beverages for yourself and plenty of water. It's mostly paved road to UTC. The snow adds a level of challenge if its deep enough. If the snow is light I'm sure we can find some fun nearby. It's DrD's back yard.

Oh guess he is talking about me.....I am ok with that.
