I've bought some VVivvid carbon fiber wrap and gave it a first try and failed to get it done in one piece.

Before I try again, I want to see if anyone else has succeeded and if there are any tips and techniques that help, and if it's even possible without making upholstery-style cuts in the wrap.

Carbon fiber wrap adds a ton of complexity because you don't want to stretch the pattern.

It seems like a topology problem to me. You need to map a flat sheet to a complex curved surface....something has to give. Map makers have struggled with this for 400 years.

In my experience, it's hard to notice the distortion from stretch in carbon fiber patterns. It's not going on a flat surface anyways so stretching it won't hurt or take away too much.

My advice is work in a warm area, grab a heat gun and be sure to heat up big parts before pulling and stretching. This way, the distortion is spread out/blended and you won't have funky looking areas
