New cars, new technologies, and new features. What works for you and what annoys you? Let's get down to our Renegades.

    Good:
    1) USB charging ports everywhere.
    2) Cigarette ports everywhere. These are charging ports now.
    3) DC to AC power converters.
    4) Auto rear wiper activation when reverse with the front wipers on.
    5) Headlights brightens in the direction you are turning.

    Bad:
    1) Cannot drive with the door open. I like to maneuver with the door open to check edges and make little adjustments when positioning the car to be worked on. The Renegade will engage the electronic ebrake and that will disable your gas pedal from giving commands to the drivetrain. The engine will rev, but the car won't move. Does this mean no burnouts?

    2) Cannot engage 4Low in park. I don't know the reason, but why can't it? More options helps in this case. It's simple, but it bugged me when I found this out. I know now to engage 4Low in drive and don't have to think about it.

    3) Slow response auto/manual shifter. Sure I can choose what gear I want to be in, but it takes forever for the transmission to shift. I know it's not a sports car, but why don't all auto/manual shifter cars have a better response shifts.

    Any else?

I like the looks of the Renegade, but I think it the car itself diminishes the Renegade name. IMHO

Fiat or not, it's another win in the styling depart that Dodge (or whatever the hell it's called now), has demonstrated time and time again in the last 20 years or so ahead of Ford and Chevy.

You've mysteriously found yourself in the Renegade subforum. The one Chris says doesn't exist and is forbidden...

We'll bash anything with a Jeep nameplate on it here. We're not prejudice that way ya' know. If it deviates from a TJ, it's got to be bad.

Personally, it doesn't look that bad, but nowhere near as good as a Wrangler. I like the modern creature comforts of newer vehicles, but I wouldn't take that Renegade anywhere serious off-road, or you'd just get stuck. IMHO, it's a car meant for soccer mom's, millennials, and yuppies who want something that says, "off road", but isn't truly meant for anything crazy.

It's just a Fiat with a Jeep badge.

My daughter owns one and loves it, but she's a millennial so take it with a grain. She mostly wanted the all wheel drive for potential trips thru the Sierras during snow season. I doubt she's turned that knob to 4wd since she's owned it. Oh, and my 77 year old father in law just recently bought one too, so there is no age limit to this craziness.

I guess I look at the Renegade as I do our 2015 Subaru Outback. We LOVE our Outback, it's a fantastic vehicle. I can take it in the snow, rain, and probably light off-road stuff such as gravel roads and such. The AWD works amazing, and it's a very comfortable car to drive.

The Renegade is similar. It's not meant for true off-roading, it's meant to be like the Outback, a sort of "all weather" vehicle, that will get most people where they need to go.

But according to the latest Jeep commercial, the entire Jeep line, including the Renegade, can traverse the Rubicon trail...right?

I haven't seen that one... Seriously? I remain highly, highly skeptical of that claim. I wonder if anyone has attempted it in their Renegade. Maybe they can do it if they avoid every major rock they see.

They only show them driving on those long, mostly flat stone areas. Probably dropped them in there with a helicopter.

Yeah, got to be. There's no way those things are going to do the Rubicon trail. Sure, maybe if you lifted them and put some bigger tires on them. They don't have enough articulation in the suspension to do it stock. Well, not over any serious terrain.

The latest commercial I saw shows a Cherokee at the Loon Lake entrance "offroading". About the only part of that trail a Cherokee can wheel is the parking lot at the entrance.

As stated, it's a fiat pretending to be a jeep. Not made in the us.

The renegade name is blasphemous to the Rengade wrangler. I enjoy telling people
"Hey I like your fiat" and they say oh no it's a jeep. I usually walk away at that point as no reason do be deliberately mean.

I see a lot of Patriots and Renegades with "it's a jeep thing. You wouldn't understand."

    They don't understand.

Also then pros list for he renegade seem like gimmicks to me. I'm fine with my 2 USB/cigarette ports. My wipers turn on when I want them to. Not when the jeep wants to haha
