i got a hold of the shitty customer service at bestop a few weeks back, chatted about the logo and about some pricing/rebate discrepancies and was rewarded with a logo less top and a hefty discount because i didn’t act like you and flip out at them like a twat.

This is closer to my bestop customer service experience. Top was on my LJ when bought it so no receipt. Started to show pin holes around stitches. Sent them photo and soon had replacement no hassle.

Or a place that does boat tops

Never even thought of that.
Smittybilt quality is the problem, not you. I think they use a discount Chinese made "Sale" cloth material for their tops. The upholstery shop will probably charge as much as the top is worth.
p.s If you're within the warranty period, get a refund.

fortunately it’s only 2 weeks old so they should replace it. When I spoke with Smittybilt yesterday they said that it “sounded like it just needed a new rear window” and for me to send in pictures. I’m going to mess with it a little over the weekend, let the upholstery shop at least check it out since they’re local, then I’ll decide if I’m going to try for a whole replacement. It was a moment of panic/frustration and I should have waited until I had some extra help. Live and learn, right? Haha

i'm not surprised to hear that since you probably didn't go into the interaction acting like a raging bitch.

i generally don't have bad customer service interactions.. anywhere. i think some people just end up getting "bad customer" service..

i couldn’t find about half of the hardware and parts for the bestop highrock cargo rack that i bought used off craigslist a few years back since i was running it on the tailgate. about a week ago i give up looking and get on line for the live chat and let them know that i'd like to order replacement parts. the customer service agent figures out the 70$ worth of parts i need to get and tells me that she's sending them to me free of charge because of my pleasant attitude. every interaction is saved on a log and they read the notes before connecting to the chat just to see what they might be getting themselves into.

I've had great experiences with Bestop.

I bought an Intatrunk that was a gojillion years old. Rusted and generally a mess, but for $40 on MP it served its' purpose. I needed the hardware kit which was easily ordered from Bestop. It got lost in the mail twice and after another call to Bestop they sent me a new Instatrunk, complete. Hard to argue that.

The logo... it really isn't that bad. Once it gets a little sun burned and dirty you can't really see it. I noticed it on another rig only because I was really looking for it. I was going to spray it with Vinyl & Fabric paint but even with me fucking up the removal a wee bit, you still can't see it. It's not a big deal.

Cleaned out all the packed mud & sand from the bump stop tubes. Found a great solution to use rubber chair leg tips on a past post here. Thanks @MountaineerTom for the idea!

dang.. calm the fuck down karen. maybe try not being a cunt when you talk to people and you’ll get better service.

you’re like a jealous ex wife, posting the same fucking rant in two separate threads, having to search for a month stale thread just to stomp your feet on the ground and make your point.

Gee guy , I just happened across the logo thread and was commenting on "their" rant. I didn't call you names like a child and I don't care one way about the logo doesn't bother me at all . You must not read well , I never called about a logo . I don't like Bestop because of dealings over a year ago on a totally unrelated reason. You like Bestop and had good luck with them and have good dealings with them , I could care less. I didn't flip out but boy everyone else sure is, I was just pointing it out !

never said you did, yet you didn't mind acting like a twat in the other thread:

You are like a bunch of weak women that their husbands beat and then make excuses for their behavior. If you were real men you would pack that shit up and send it back to them and tell them if their picture had that crappy logo on it you wouldn't have bought it. But no you call them up and whine to them like a little girl ,

gee shucks, real adult of you there. fun to dish it out but you can't handle it coming back to you eh? what a snowflake.

You must not read well , I never called about a logo

never said you called about a logo. i was just helping you out in telling you to quit acting like a cunt if you want better service. take your own advice and read my response to your childish diatribe again. bestop would have probably helped you out had you not been a fucktard.

I didn't flip out

sure ya didn't. tell yourself whatever you need to make yourself feel better about your bullshit. i don't give a fuck.

You're going to enjoy the short crisp shifts of that B&M shifter.🤩

So I went and started to replace the shifter, got to the TC shifter bolts to remove to get the main trans cover off. What are those on the underside of the bolts? I looked up there, they are not nuts. I have never run across what is threaded into the bolts. I left off finishing it for tomorrow. Got no pics.

Those are nutserts. Those are the main mounting fasteners for the tcase shifter. And you have bolt retainers on the bottom side of the tcase shifter mounting flange.

Bolt retainers. I must google those.

Do I need to pull all the bolts on the TC shifter? The instructions and videos show just what looks like just one.

It is a strange setup. There is either 1or 2 tranny cover screws that you need to remove first. Then start unscrewing the tcase shifter bolts equally a bit at a time. They are rather long for their purpose.
Do you have a cable shifter or stock linkage. Cable shifter allows you to pull the tcase shifter out and lay it driver's side.
