What did you do to your TJ today?

I’m a few hours into swapping axles. From Dana 30/35 open 4.10s, to HP30/trussed 8.8 with disks. Both are locked with 4.88s.

Both are from a XJ, so keeping the truss while integrating the new tj brackets has been a lot of fabrication. Looking back, moving the upper control arms to the center of the truss and changing my frame side mounts would have required less fab time then trying to keep it original. But more shop time is nothing to complain about!

I ended up removing end sections of the truss to install the upper CA brackets. Now I will cut slots in the removed truss pieces to slide them back over the new CA brackets and integrate the entire truss back into the build. SOOOOO many cutting wheels!

Tried to sort out my window washer problem the fuse is okay… The wipers work and I believe they run off the same fuse anyway…
So now I think it could be the lever on the side of the steering column have to pull it apart this weekend….☹️

I ordered a Mopar CPS today. I’ve been running a cheap no name brand for a couple years now without any noticeable issues like codes or CEL’s, but I’m curious if this will make any difference. Either way it’s good to have a spare since the Mopar parts are becoming scarce.

Put on a Mopar Crankshaft position sensor. The harness side connector from OR actually fit. Few zip ties later. Ken is alive!
Let us all put this ugly period of our life behind us.

Then found the vacuum leak. No idea how it wore through there. Anyone know the part number for 02, 2.5L? Or is it the same as the 4.0?

Gorilla tape to the rescue, until I source a replacement.

Just get what you need to get if you can’t get the oem part.

Changed shocks, rotated tires, changed oil & air filter (dusty). Greased everything with a nippel, except the Mrs. I tried but she was too quick. Question: anyone else have clearance issues with Passenger Side rear shock clearance and the exhaust. Mine is stock, with Chrysler Star and everything.

Loose the boots and it look’s like it will clear fine. All they do is trap dirt and moisture inside.
