Gave my project bitch a quick hone to get them cleaned up

Nice cross hatch, that should seal up nicely.
Not sure if you know, but you want those bores super extra clean before you put the pistons back in. I could see some specs in some of the pics. That hone stone and metal mix material takes some work to get cleaned out.

Yea after I honed the bores I sprayed brake cleaner into the head bolt bosses to clean them out so I’ll do another final cleaning and oiling before I drop the new pistons in. I seem to find myself redoing thing’s multiple times before I get it right lol

My zipper on my drivers window finally gave up so swapped out the drivers window with one I bought last year…
As you can see the bottom of the window frame had more rust than the Titanic…😉. So I needed a reason to pull it apart anyway lol
But before I order 2 new frames I gave these one a quick going over with the grinding wheel and rust converter…

I weighed my new piston assemblies today. I guess I should have weighed everything separately before I assembled everything but from what I read with the average weight of my pistons that 30 grams is acceptable which seems like a lot. Thankfully I’m well within that range and could shave a few grams if I wanted.

New headunit with wireless CarPlay = a clear windshield. Went with the Joying 7in single din.

As with most of these Chinese/Android units the preamp is only 2v so I installed this 4 channel amp. Everything needs some tuning but I’m pretty pleased with the amp, SoundOrdnance sub and Kickers F/R setup.

Pulled my radio bezel out and painted it up. Then I installed a new phone holder. I plan on painting the rest of the dash when I get the time to pull it out. Supposed to go check out some half doors tomorrow. One is missing the door panel inside but for $250 it sounds like a good deal. Also going to check out a soft top frame this weekend too. It’s ungodly how expensive just the frame is when buying them new so a complete one with hardware for $150 is hard to pass up. Next I’ll have to find a soft top lol

If you can find one with no holes and decent windows, any of the zippers or stitching can be fixed by an old school luggage or shoe repair shop for 75 or less

A guy in a local Jeep club has one for $150 from a 98. Not sure if it’s the factory one but it has a sticky zipper he say on the driver side. Might be worth checking out though

Dropped my tank to replace the check valve/pressure regulator and patched up a rust/rock hole while I save up for a 1/4" UCF aluminum skid.

Things I learned... should have had the short soft fuel line with connectors on hand and some 1/4" fuel line for the rollover valves. And a sock...one that came with it was the wrong size.

Have all new hoses and a new filler neck.

Original pump was a Bosch...it works fine so it's getting sealed in a bag for future use.

Random what look like cut off body mount bolts stuck on top of the pump assembly...one less rattle.
