What did you do to your TJ today?

Another successful Daddy/Daughter camping trip. 7 families, some old timers and some new. Not only did the tent stay dry but so did the jeep.

Today, I worked on my new to me half doors. Replaced all 4 hinge pins (both bottoms were absolutely awful to remove, (had to use a propane torch). Surprisingly all of the door hinge bolts came out with minimal effort so I was able to adjust the doors and the new uppers I bought with ease. Now I just got to get around to painting them. (Although the blue is growing on me).

also, had to re-glue the rear view mirror to the windshield today. Knocked it off a few days ago cleaning the windshield. Permatex was pretty easy to use.

I installed a hitch a few weeks ago, but one of the nuts In the frame was all rusty and stripped. Finally got around to drilling and tapping it to M14 x 1.5 and installed the wiring harness. Good to go

Went to relocate the rear perches and found out I'm buying new rear perches...

Realized the rust when I went to weld a rust spot on the top of the mount.

At least we're all cleaned up and ready to meet our new mounts (flat black - still wet).

Bro, I loooooove the mini!😆

Winch install/replacement/upgrade done. Cab controls all wired in. 9.5 XP even came with a wireless remote. While finishing up I heard my father in law inventing some new curse words...his F250's brake petal was hitting the floor. He's got brake fluid pouring out intermittently from under the power steering hydroboost pump and the rear brakes. He didn't believe me when I said it was pouring out of the cups inside the caliper...took the Jeep into town for his choice of cheap brake parts...no winching needed (yet.)

That motor is so big it needs a sticker...any suggestions?

Well I looked at mine today. More than I’ve done in a few months. It wouldn’t start. Not surprisingly it hasn’t been driven in a few months and I’ve got a small power draw somewhere I need to track down. My “Smart” battery charger wouldn’t kick on because it’s too dead to register in its circuitry. So I’ll jump it tomorrow. It’s time to start getting it ready for the season again.

5:1. I have it fully in and was able to run around some dirt for a few to test things. Everything seems to work as it is supposed to. Ended up with 1/2" of clearance in the tight spots, so more than enough. I had to move the floorboard a bit and move a brace on my skid plate to keep the flat belly.
