What did you do to your TJ today?

Finally completed changing all my Dome lights to 255 color LED's along with my Courtesy Floor Lights. They are really quite bright. I got rid of the Opaque rear Hard top light cover and went with a new clear one. The white interior lights were just too boring for me. There is a phone app that changes them all with one button, and the color stays until it is changed again. The Engine bay LED lights were previously installed, and I recently upgraded those too. Now, the grill lights up too. I also added 255 color LED rock lights, and two sets of Underglow lights. One set illuminates my side steps when the door is opened with the interior courtesy lights, and another set is controlled by an interior switch, for the underglow lights alone. It is all quite complicated so I had it all installed and wired by a professional with a lifetime warranty.

My next project is to change all my seat belt straps to white. There is a kit for the front and another one for the rear. But, I will need a clear spray protective coat to make cleaning them easier, so I have to plan it well, first, so that I don't ruin them. This will be an easy straightforward project so, I can probably handle that myself.

Then I can button the doors back up. Wish I could find a set of the hard uppers with sliding window for a decent price. If I did, I might consider running these full time.

Any thoughts on laying down some 2K clear on the doors, they look great as is but for the price of the 2k ‘poke the can’ and shake might add some extra years of paint life.

I knew I would run into problems.

PO had put some aftermarket front sway bar end links when they did the 3" lift. Those end links were loose and going bad so I got some Zone Offroad front sway bar end links. I got the old end links off. I was trying to remove the bolt that connects to the axle, and the bolt isn't factory.

It looks like there is a bolt going from the right that then screws into a sleeve on the left. I've never come across something like this before, and I have no idea what this is called.

Any ideas how I can get this off?

Can you stick a screwdriver in that hole to hold it while backing the bolt out? My Rubicon express quick disconnects were like that

Honestly I never even thought about it. I had a can of Duplicolor clear sitting on the shelf and just hit them with 2 coats of that. Is the 2k really that good?

Yes, it's catalyzed. Hardened top coat should prove more durable. (y)

I used it on the body matched grille of another vehicle back in 2008, it only started having adhesion issues a year or so ago, and that was likely started by stone chips. That said, substrate and surface prep make a difference as well.

Good to know. I'll look into it!
