What did you do to your TJ today?

I got the leaking transmission rear output shaft seal done. Got everything put back together and took it for a short test drive. Everything worked fine so far.

I'll check in the morning if there are any red puddles under the Jeep. Whenever I did stuff to it, the puddle would form within a few hours. Hopefully this does it.

Also, I disconnected the mechanism for the 4WD shift lever. It seems to not be attached to the TC arm very well. I guess it is time to upgrade everything to a Savvy shift kit.

New Jeep or a new T-stat housing? If the latter, it probably won't be much better than what you have now. See if you can sand it flat first and/or use Permatex on the damn thing. They ALL seem to have coplanarity issues, at least the 4.0 version.

I just did a cooling system overhaul last year on my 4.0. Reused the t stat housing and had zero issues. I made sure both surfaces were clean and used a gasket with the applied silicon seal like what lube locker uses on their diff cover gaskets.

I hear red is best to make sure those pesky lug nuts stay put. ;)

True, but then you need the special tool to remove them. 😁

Parked the Jeep at my mates place in torrential rain yesterday and noticed wet carpet when I went to come home 🤬
Had to pull the cowl off and the bed rug today as I ended up with wet feet….no debris in the vents so maybe it was just the heavy rain 🫤

Dang I went back and looked, got it straightened out now.

Thanks for the catch!!!

I have those same lug nuts (in SAE) and the fit the openings in my procomp wheels but didn't fit in the OEM Ravine wheels.

Test them out before zipping them on with an impact or something.

Good quality, no sign of rust after 3-1/2 years.

I finally completed my next project installing the 4 white seat belts, front and back. It was pretty simple to do. I also heavily stained protected them 24 hours before the install which was kind of messy so, I laid down plastic drop sheets. I experimented with various shoulder pads before deciding on the tan ones.
