What did you do to your TJ today?

Now you guys can see what I was dealing with all day Saturday..... I finally got the 13 different Lugnuts off the vehicle and got every wheel set up the same and washed all their grimy paw prints off of it-

Then loaded my tool bags better hoping, uh, I mean in case, they aren’t there to help
next time.

Got a lug wrench I like- wanted a sharp right angle not a curved handle-Notice it gleams like a light saber. I could dual Triton -“ Goob! I’m your father!”

If the rain holds off im going to pull the LJR out of the shop
(Top is off) and do the right side studs so this never happens again (@Jerry Bransford says if I can’t even get to the trail without a wheel falling off to lose his number when I get in the woods😄)

I’m really happy about all I learned and really encourage you Rubi guys to pull a rear lug and notice the depth.

Many aftermarket axle companies use those with a taper- this is bad, bad on a Rubi. I emailed 10
Factory today about it.

I will never run stock lugs on a Rubicon without extended Lugnuts or changing the rear studs. If you have aftermarket wheels you really need to pay attention.

In my case it was the axle change.

When I bought my ten factory rear axles I bought longer studs at the same time because I realized the ones that came with were too short.

Not if you don’t want him traumatized.

I can read your journal entry now-

Dear Diary,
Well, I just wish I’d stayed home.

Do jeeps make people act like that?

I am so ashamed.

now Andy be truthful ! I dont even think a bad word was spoken all day ! and unless it was when I was gone nothing was done that would of been inappropriate for a 5 year old !

Finished my hard top interior cleaning-

Whoever figured out the magic eraser trick needs a trophy-

True, the problem is we act like 5 year olds....

Well I decided to wait until it was not raining to get into this right axle-

Shop is pretty small, Plus I decided a while back to start sleeping better and have enjoyed it.

I built out the hard top seal on the TJR, All you have to do is put layers of tape on the edge of the top and when you put the seal back on it will not pull in as close - Gives you a good chance to clean everything and condition the seal with 303 also.

I really have to admit I love just messing with these things nearly as much as driving them- Jeeps are a lot of fun.

Heated seats soon-

Parked the Jeep at my mates place in torrential rain yesterday and noticed wet carpet when I went to come home 🤬
Had to pull the cowl off and the bed rug today as I ended up with wet feet….no debris in the vents so maybe it was just the heavy rain 🫤

Next time you have your cowl off, I'd be interested to know how far out of the hole (from the face of the sub-cowl panel) that plastic bit sticks. While I can't do much for the right hand drive crowd, I'm looking at coming up with a modified cabin air intake design to suit earlier TJ's....and it seems some years had that extended bit (which may have helped reduce the amount of water you took on).

I still have the bushing removal tool stuck in a hinge when I replaced mine. Had to get a new hinge.

They never come out a smoothly as they show on the videos

I haven't quite gotten to this job yet, but I think the bushings actually came off with my door. I thought that was a bad thing but sounds like maybe not...

Mm ok I’ll do that yes.
Mine is labelled over here as a 99 but its a 97 TJ so the MK I of the TJ’s
Would you like the measurement in centimetres ? 😂😂

Appreciated. Rough dimensions of the hole would be nice as well. :)

Interesting. I know of a '99 over here that doesn't have that bit extending through the hole, though the hole appears to be the same size.

Millimeters would be best but I can convert...and I'm not joking, my cabin air filter design is millimeters. I wouldn't want to work with metric in my current field of building construction but it's easy to convert within the system. 25.4 and 39.37 are magic numbers when working between systems. ;)

Actually, the design can be easily mirrored so would work for you that way...though aside from you I've only seen one other right-hander here (a rural USPS vehicle, I assume). I'm betting it would help keep the water out of your passenger footwell in heavy rains. Know of anyone with a 3D printer (capable of printing in ABS) in your island paradise nation? :D

I'll see what I can do over the weekend... it doesn't take that long to take the cowl out.....the passenger footwell was dry it was the drivers side (right side ;) ) opposite side to the hole.
I may need to ask around if any mates know anyone with a 3d printer...thanks.

Was going to remark on your four legged friend. Australian Cattle dog?

He is a blue heeler, Maybe the only AKC registered dog we’ve ever had and he’s from Texas. My son got him. He will climb a tree to get a stick.

His wingman is Roscoe, our red heeler.
