What did you do to your TJ today?

Thought about helping one of the truckers do some deliveries…. Anyone any idea what the tow capacity would be for a TJ …. Braked 😂😂

Almost got myself in quite a predicament.

Took the kid and dog up into the hills by home to get into the snow. While coming up the main forest road, there was some tree branches down in the road. I didn't think much of them until my front tire hit one that was buried and kicked it up. Luckily I was going slow and stopped as soon as I heard it. The front tire was still on one end and the other end had flipped up and gone through an arch in a soft brake line. The limb was against my ujoint at the pinion, a soft brake line, and the gas tank, right at the top edge of the skid. All while being pinned in place by the driver's front tire. Of course I didn't have any type of saw or anything to cut it with. I was able to ease back off a few inches at a time while hopping out to make sure it wasn't going to catch the brake line. No pictures of this as it all happened in about a minute, but a ripped brake line or punctured gas tank could've been a real damper on a 30 minute trip into the snow!

I hate going over branches / dead limbs just for this reason.

Too nice a day to waste yesterday so went for a coastal drive …And cooked up some honey soy chicken n' rice off the back of the tailgate.
Think I need to get and find a new awning, the one I have takes ages to set up and 'any wind' will make it look like it will take off.
Tried to stay ahead of the rain... but it caught me 20 mins from home.

I'm generally a move it if I can type guy when it comes to branches. There was some really small stuff that I wasn't concerned about and then this one buried under the snow. If I would've got out to move some small ones, I might have seen the big one! Luckily it ended ok.

My son got this one wedge under his JKU, was also buried in the snow.

Just finished installing the Toyota OEM headlights with the higher wattage Hella H4 bulbs. Replaced some crappy Amazon special Chinese LED lights that had a terrible pattern and were basically useless.

Haven’t had a chance to aim them correctly yet, but in the garage, they seem like they will work fine. Not as nice as some how super high dollar bright LEDs, but they’ll do the job. They look period correct which is nice.

I am completely flabbergasted and frustrated... I changed the door handles again because the ones from TRQ turned out to be shit and in the process I have lost a door crank handle!

I have looked in the Jeep - under the seats, between the seats and the console, etc. I have looked on my work table. I have moved everything out from under the work table to look there. I have looked in my tool drawers. I have shaken the door to see if it has a new rattle. I have taken the Jeep out of the garage and looked on the floor. How in the hell could I lose a crank handle? So annoying.

Inside the door?

Met a new friend this morning!!! @DougyintheBushies I reached out to him about some decals for me.

Stopped by his place of business on my way to work and we probably chatted for 25 minutes. Always a pleasure to meet Jeep freaks.

Parked next to his Red TJ.

This looks like a “cover your ass” post to me… this meeting looks pretty sketchy and it appears like the SWAT team is moving in from the rear…

Inside the door?

I had the door fully reassembled with the handle snapped on before I realised I had the metal bracket in the door installed the wrong way around. I then removed the handle, removed the door panel, swapped around the metal bracket, installed the door panel and.... no handle. For it to be in the door I would have had to pick it up and put it in the door.

The logical place for it is on the driver's seat because I would have put it down near me. But it's not there.

I do have the handle removal tool.

Dumb question, but have you fully tilted the seat back to make sure it isn't wedged in the crease or corner somewhere? Inside the center console somehow? On the dash? The other sure way to find it is to order a new one, and open the package or install it so that it can't be returned, and then you will instantly find the old one! Works like a charm 👌🏼

got tired of replacing the blower resistor so finally replaced the blower motor. hopefully that solves the issue. I have a 2000 Sahara. The Mopar p/n is 4886150AA but it is 4-5 times the price of aftermarket options. I ended up getting this one from Rock Auto: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=1406773&cc=1363441&pt=6916&jsn=865 VDO/Continental PM6002. To my ear it has a slightly higher pitch and perhaps slightly louder - haven't listened to it enough to decide if it's objectionable, just different. but I have all four fan speeds again.
