What did you do to your TJ today?

Finally! After I decided to go take the fuel pump/gas sending unit of my Mazda Miata myself, ( been sitting in the garage where there is a swamp cooler to keep it cool, so he can't blame heat, LOL), hubby finally decided to not only take the fuel lines off of it for me, but also took the steering stabilizer off the Jeep! Today I went and bought another one, so hopefully later tonight when it cools off (its outside in the heat), we can get that installed. Then I want to rotate the tires and then take it for a drive to see how things go with the death wobble. If that doesn't work, then it will be off to the alignment shop to have it realigned. Oh, we will torque things too before going for the test drive.

So happy things are finally moving forward on it. I haven't even taken the windows out for summer yet and we are in the dead heat of it.

Not sure one really needs all those tools to get that one little stabilzer out, but that is what I found when I went to take pics to get a new one. LOL

I think I may need to squeeze a bath in the mix too. LOL

Drove MY TJ around a bit, and decided gas was cheap so I might as well spill a bunch of it down the side etc; the pump handle auto shutoff didn't auto shutoff. Usually it shuts off way too easily, this time it just kept flowing until I heard it splashing. Coming back out the filler neck, and also draining from the skid. I hope it's not what I fear it is... when I had only had it for a few months I took it on a little adventure. I had to fill it up and the same thing happened. The next day out on the trails all of a sudden my fuel gauge shows me losing fuel rapidly. Turns out the big nut that holds the pump down had come free so the pump was basically floating. It was an annoying trail fix but it's been fine until today. Haven't had a chance to see what's going on yet.

Then I re-did daughter's ball joints. I had done them a while back, but they went in a little too easy. Advice here was to dimple them and use red locktite 609 (which is actually green?). XJ buddy came over and we got both sides done in about 2 hrs. That's definitely record time for us on that job. I should've taken some pics.

Ripped the old exhaust out today. New stainless Flowmaster downpipe, straight into a 2.5" super 44. No more neck down.

Delivery from BMB showed up, threw the power steering cooler in. Tomorrow before work I'll install the new fairlead and winch line, maybe. Need to see what to do about the rust on the drum.

Got the whole thing buttoned up from the exhaust, gas tank and shock work and twisted off a freaking lug nut. This is on a spidertrax spacer.

I don't even know how it happened. I always use a torque wrench, set for 95. I didn't feel like I was very close to that and it gave me that telltale sign where it feels kinda tight but feeling gradually looser as it's tightened.

My TJ had some Rugged Ridge high back seats in it when I bought it. https://www.quadratec.com/p/rugged-ridge-premium-high-back-bucket-seat-cj-yj-tj/black-vinyl The seat cushions were hard as a rock and the most uncomfortable seats I've ever seen in a Jeep of any kind. I took them to a local upholstery shop and asked them to put some more foam in them. She said those Rugged Ridge seats use the cheapest foam they can get. She took out all the original foam and put 2 inch thick memory foam in. It was expensive but well worth every penny. The seats are so comfortable now I go out in the shop and sit in my Jeep:) and smile.

Is the one on the right machined? I mean what's on the outside of the drum doesn't matter too much.

Yea, it is! I was more than a bit surprised. The color of the un-machined metal is also slightly different, whatever that may mean. Maybe the machined one escaped from a skunkworks or something. I'm gonna hit them with a bit of high-temp paint anyway.
