What did you do to your TJ today?

After clearing the codes (pcm reboot) and several hours of driving, the cps codes haven't come back and Jeep runs great. I was driving my car trying to make some money and the power steering went out. Got it home and popped the hood to find the belt came off. Pulley is partially seized and catches when you try to turn it. PITA to get to and replace the pump (Scion). Getting quotes to get it replaced this week. 😢

I did the ZJ steering mod on the tie rod . Aligned the front end using two pieces of square tubing clamped to the rotors and tape measure . Set the toe in at 1/8 inch , seems to drives fine . We'll do a little more driving tomorrow . I think it was about $95 with tax on Amazon .

I had the sway bar disconnected playing in a ditch along my driveway . I've never run it detached . It seemed to have much better traction with it disconnected while crossing the ditch at an angle . I didn't get a picture of it crossing the ditch disconnected . Driving the driveway I could feel the difference in the dipping of the Jeep in the turns , feels like floating .

With one rear wheel off the ground in two wheel drive , the Eaton Trutrac easily pushed me through with a little brake pedal work .

Did the ZJ upgrade on daughters 97, but I didn’t discover that the drag link coupler didn’t have the square opening on the clamps, so I had to take both drag links all apart and put the old coupler into the new setup. That was as much fun as it sounds.

Mine didn't come with a new one. I had to order a Moog adjustment sleeve for $10.

File this under "nothing is easy." Went to title/register daughter's 97 today. Bought it in November, but have not really driven it much due to working on it etc. When I bought it, the owner was in North Dakota while one of her kids was having a baby. I was in contact with her, but a different kid of hers actually did the deal. Clean title, etc, so no problems there but apparently there were 2 names on the title but the daughter only "signed" mom's name on it. Of course I didn't catch it, but the person at the tax office did. I have to get the title signed by the other seller, and then some other piece of paper signed by everybody as well.

Lucky for me both sellers were just outside the building so I was able to get the signatures lickety-split.

Yikes! That could have been problematic for sure! Glad you were able to get it straightened out quickly and easily.

What the odds that BOTH sellers were on standby and just outside the door for such an eventuality. Just uncanny possibly even fictional 😂

I hope you're not trying to imply malfeasance on my part. Of course the sellers were on hand, despite my having bought the Jeep 7 months ago and them living 90 minutes away. Why wouldn't they be?

Reminded me of my youth about 18/19yo when we took a junk car to scrap.

The guy said he couldn’t take the car because the title wasn’t signed.

He suggested I go out and see if “Mrs smith” is in the car so she could sign it.
I didn’t get it and asked: “why would she be out in the car”.
The guy: “go look, you never know”
By gosh she was there!

What an amazing coincidence. Right up there with boating accidents & firearm losses. Uncanny.
