What did you do to your TJ today?

Fun day for a Monday ....

Fixed my 02 (2096) code - new NGK02 sensor and tightened the pre cats -

Then loaned trailer to Dave to move some stuff and took it to a friends shop for a tailgate install- this trailer needs it bad

Washed the LJ

Then drove it to meet a client and got it dirty 🙃

Now half door fine tuning -

Where did you come up with this idea?

Prepped to do a polish of the ProComps.
Left to right.. Fritz PreClean (stuff is amazing), Flitz Ceramic Sealant, five sizes of polishing pads (Mother's deluxe buff, two small wheels and two Flitz wheels 6" and 3" ball) application brush, Flitz polish and die grinder.
Two micro fiber cloths that go in the garbage once done.

Pics when your done… I did old AR aluminum wheels a couple months ago… does the ceramic coating work well on the aluminum? Asking because ceramic coating is new to me.

Killer avatar pic. Really good.

Noticed the AC compressor cycling and things just weren't as cool as I thought they should be. So I...

... recharged it. My 134a can was a partial, so I had just enough for it to barely get into the green, but its ice cold now! It started about mid way through the red, and is the first time I've needed to recharge the system in the 4 years I've owned the Jeep.

My system was flat when I took custody in 21. Topped it off with part of a can and it blew snowballs.

About a year later it wasn't all that cold. The same can had enough to top it off again, and its been perfect since. Top of the green is where I ended up as well.

Blows high 40s out the center vents with 110+ ambient 🥶

Is that LJ Stone White? I couldn't wait to get all the grey and chrome off of mine.
I have black wheels just waiting on ordering a set of 16" tires.

Did you buy the grill overlay or did it come on your TJ? My grill is trashed from the PO installing those silly inserts into the grill slots. I don't want to paint it.. can't undo that. The matte overlay would be perfect, but they are impossible to find.

While the paint on Tess isn't immaculate after 18+ years, it wasn't horrible but needed a little TLC. Had a full weekend of dry weather so I gave her a once over with a clay bar followed up with machine applied compound, polish and wax. She ain't ready for the Pebble Beach Concourse but she looks a damn sight better than she did and now she's sporting a little protection as well.

That looks awesome. I have all the tools and materials to do a deep paint detail but zero time or energy. My paint is pretty good but the body doesn't match the still pristine half doors I refinished this past winter. Can't tell when it's dirty, but when it's clean it is obvious the doors were redone.

I do them twice a year.. this is what they look like when I'm done.

I found a Mopar chrome grille overlay at Baseline boneyard and had it wrapped in 3M satin black. I may take that off and have the grille wrapped instead.

Replaced the driver's seat cushion bottom, installed Diver Down seat covers, and installed rear seat shoulder belts (they were just lap belts before). Special thanks to hosejockey61 for the seat cushion how-to video, it was so easy to follow!

I noticed some of the black plastic wire protectors are brittle or close enough to fall about when inspecting them around the jeep. I have been going over and replacing where needed. In the hot spots, specially near the exhaust I found this online, ordered 1/4",3/8",1/2" x 4ft. I dont believe it was more than about $40 total.

Yup... Been looking for a chrome grill overlay as well. Figured that would be an easy DIY to wrap. I would have figured they would be as easy to find as bumper milk jugs. Not around here. Even with all the angry bird grills, no one has the overlay. If you choose to take yours off and want to off-load it, let me know. I looked into a wrap on my grill but those F'ng grill inserts wrecked the paint so bad it would show through the wrap.

We don't have any of those pick-n-pay salvage yards around here either.. I think that's what you guys call them
