What did you do to your TJ today?

Decided to park a little close to the garage wall forgot I leaned my half doors up against the wall…..
Now I have a nice crease in one of the doors from my front tire.
I did something similar, but less expensive to fix. I park my Expedition in the shop, tucked back in an area that demands attention while backing in. Earlier this year, I got in and started driving forward, out of the shop, when I heard a commotion. I got out and realized that my center console was on the floor in front of the Expedition, and now, it was shattered...

For about $100 eBay had me fixed up.

I feel for you, RocknLJ!

Getting to the final steps of my rubicon axle swap before installing them. Took them to a friend’s shop to get the new spring perches welded up.

Thanks.

It sux to get old lol

I just picked up these near mint condition doors this past spring for $300. Drove 6 plus hours round trip to get them. The inside panels were dark slate and match the LJ interior while the outside were silver but my Jeep is white. Took them off the Jeep as I was going to disassemble them to get the shells painted white.
Think I’ll just leave em silver and stay a member of the mismatched 1/2 door club😂

DOH!

I don't like chrome but left my headlight trim that way on my black grille. Maybe it's just a close enough match to my least favorite automotive color, Bright Silver Metallic to let them stay.

It seems like those hex-head silver screws are just screaming out, "HERE WE ARE! LOOK AT US!!"

Sorry, I bought stainless because the old screws were so rusted. Can you paint stainless?

Drove it on some errands and listened to Broadway by the Goo Goo Dolls live in Buffalo, 2004. Have a habit of listening to one song over and over occasionally, like to learn the lyrics.

Love good live performances. That show was epic. Had a great day. Just felt terrific mentally and physically.View attachment 547795

Have a friend who is an amazing musician. He learns songs this way. Over and over and over but never buys the music because he doesn’t read it well enough.
I can’t carry a beat but I can enjoy some music. 🇺🇸

Repetition wins every time. Their lead guy, John Rzeznik, lyrics are non intuitive and have odd meter, he plays in odd keys and it is a brain cramp to remember a single verse. Its like he pulls lines from 20 songs and strings them together.

I love music, and am fixing to start playing the guitar again. Talented? Uh no. I can barely play a radio.

Had I done anything in music I should have pursued being a lyricist. Maybe next time around 😆

Drove Ruby up to Angles Camp are for a site visit. Had a good a time, but it was hot today. Served as a reminder I really need to get out flush the system and install all those new parts sitting in the garage.

Spent a lot of time in that area, esp. a bit north in Plymouth - but also have camped at the Calaveras county fairgrounds right in Angel's Camp. Used to like to take highway 4 down to 99 through Copperopolis.

I was in Copperopolis yesterday at an elementary school, then on to an elementary school in Angels Camp. We do get get aways sometimes to Angles Camp.

Whole new cooling system minus the heater core. I'm sure that will let go now that everything else is replaced.
I've neglected it for too long, cracked the fan shroud doing the body lift and had a quick run up to the red zone last week. Pulled off immediately and let it cool. Got it home and replaced the fan shroud but noticed some bulging in the hoses and a load of gunk in the tank.
Decided it was time to renew everything.
Ya think this might have been the problem?

Cruising the backroads looking for snakes to mess with....just saw one, he slithered off before I got a good look.

Pic was taken at a stop.

Why would you get out and do that Andy?

Why not. Been doing it for ages. Stuff like this is recreation in our state.

Finally got to get in front of MY 97 for the first time since New Years. I towed it to the cabin outside Hot Springs for a wheeling trip and then deer season, then left it at my brother in laws place "temporarily." But then I didn't make it back to the cabin until this week. He's been driving it off and on, but it's having a hard time keeping the battery charged. He has it on a charger, but then after driving it it if you wait a week it'll be dead again.

I'm pretty sure this is a new behavior, because I that wheeling trip was in late September and it wasn't until mid November that I came back for deer season. And it started right back up.

One thing I did notice was that the (+) battery clamp was resting against the rubber insulator thing on the fender. I don't know that it's able to drain the battery through that...I mean, it's supposed to be insulated right? But on a related note, is there a good reason why they chose to put the positive post next to the fender? Seems like the negative next to the tub would've made more sense.

It's on the charger now, I'll actually drive it tomorrow and see what's up.
