What did you do to your TJ today?

I scored a Tuffy Security box from CraigsList and welded two lengths of unistrut to the top panel. Now I can adjust the cone nuts to any position along the track to suit my needs. It's a blast personalizing the TJ with the crazy things we think up!

I've been looking for a Tuffy Security Deck for about two years... can't stomach paying the price for new considering how bullet proof these things are. Just need to be patient

Finally was able to Install my new NTK crankshaft and camshaft sensors before the flood waters started. I was hoping to be able to drive without getting stranded again. Only time will tell which sensor fails first.

A couple of days ago, I noticed that my AC would stop blowing out of the dash vents when going up over a causeway (then return to normal going downhill) - and my vacuum gauge would read goose eggs momentarily. Hmmmm - seems like an impending vacuum leak. Then the center vents quit working altogether, and the vacuum gauge was reading about 5 inches lower than normal. It took about half an hour puttering around under the hood, then I found this:

Non-stock elbow (that I installed a couple of years ago) parted company with itself. Off to the store to get a hopefully better elbow...

But its nice when you find the smoking gun - got that bastud!

Whole new cooling system minus the heater core. I'm sure that will let go now that everything else is replaced.
I've neglected it for too long, cracked the fan shroud doing the body lift and had a quick run up to the red zone last week. Pulled off immediately and let it cool. Got it home and replaced the fan shroud but noticed some bulging in the hoses and a load of gunk in the tank.
Decided it was time to renew everything.
Ya think this might have been the problem?

Lol, why you mad at my thermostat @Weasellee?

8:43 pm friday night Headed back to my office for my end of week ritual-

Organize bills, make sure what needs to be paid is paid, plan my week, be sure costs are documented and clients emailed info- try to spend saturday “clean” and not be anxious monday am-

So I keep this blanket on my hood , crap falls or carpenter ants are overhead.....I like to do my eyebrows up and down and yank it off like David Copperfield real cool.....😆😆

Took the windows out and went for a nice drive. Odd thing, while driving straight, my left blinker suddenly came on by itself, and I heard a beeping sound that repeated four times. I reached over and flipped my blinker the other direction and the beeping stopped and the blinking stopped. Nothing else unusual happened but that's the first time I've ever seen that before!

Get ready to buy a multi- function switch-

I’d pull it and inspect it asap- they can short out, smoke, etc.

When you purchase a new one you have to convert some of the parts over usually so don’t just throw the original away after you pull it.

What did you use to refinish the grill? That doesn't look like an overlay.

It's a black 2k bed liner paint in aerosol cans. Did just the front, the rest was primed and painted with rustoleum satin black. Turned out nice, and feels very durable.

Repetition wins every time. Their lead guy, John Rzeznik, lyrics are non intuitive and have odd meter, he plays in odd keys and it is a brain cramp to remember a single verse. Its like he pulls lines from 20 songs and strings them together.

I love music, and am fixing to start playing the guitar again. Talented? Uh no. I can barely play a radio.

Had I done anything in music I should have pursued being a lyricist. Maybe next time around 😆

Seems like a good time to mention we had a minor "hit" on Dallas radio (and got some airplay on other random radio stations around the country).

Jeep related, I got my 97 back from BIL's house, power washed all the sap off the hood and mud from underneath (I don't remember ever having washed it). And went on 3 drives of 30-45 minutes. Aside from the fact that it's got a little vibration around 65, everything is great. It probably doesn't help that the tires are torn up from being on the rocks and that I'm currently missing a shock in the rear.

Also started right up every time after the overnight charge. BIL also said that you had to feather the gas a bunch to keep it running (IAC, likely), I never had any trouble with it.

Last week wife went to put visor down and it came off in her hand, the mount disintegrated into little pieces. Looked at the driver visor and the mount had a huge crack in it. Bought a couple with good reviews on Amazon, they came yesterday, got them installed and the visors back in the Jeep. Some reviewers had a hard time getting it back together as the little spring is pretty stiff, nothing a vice and small socket to press on the lock washer didn't handle easily.

Visor mounts BTW, order 1 piece X2

10-4. Had to replace one before on my 2000, but it just wouldn't work intermittently. First time I've had one beep!

Well, it was the cause of your failure and I’m not happy about it, nor sad or surprised. I don’t think it makes me USA proud or laugh out loud. I quickly thought about vomiting over it and the facepalm is way overused. So, I chose to get angry.

🤷🏼‍♂️.
