What did you do to your TJ today?

Well, it was the cause of your failure and I’m not happy about it, nor sad or surprised. I don’t think it makes me USA proud or laugh out loud. I quickly thought about vomiting over it and the facepalm is way overused. So, I chose to get angry.

🤷🏼‍♂️.

I thought you were mad at me. I've actually been wanting to replace the whole cooling system for a while.
It is probably the only part of the Jeep I've been worried about for a while now.
Just needed time.
I guess the thermostat made time for me!

Thank you. Always looking for places in the NE. Is a state or local permit required?
Would you know any local dispersed camping spots?

So you pay for a week long ORV pass and watch a quick 20 minute video on what to do when you get stuck , as for the camping spots not too sure

10-4. Had to replace one before on my 2000, but it just wouldn't work intermittently. First time I've had one beep!

My 06 Dodge 2500 has beeped at me when I left the turn signal on too long. I can't say if I've ever had my Jeep do it, but I usually don't let my turn signals stay on that long. A flashing light on the dash starts to trigger a little OCD in me.

My jeep beeps right after starting it, 3 or 4 beeps. Only other time is if I leave the headlights on and turn the key off.

Years ago I got a permit to run Eglin Air Force Base down in Alabama. You also have to watch a 20 minute video to get the permit.

Apparently a lot of unexploded ordinance on the base. To get the point across, the video has a scene with a mother walking hand in hand with her little daughter through the woods, when a gigantic explosion obliterates them both.

It was a bit over the top…

Made my wife drive the jeep instead of her F150 yesterday . (My kids needed me to haul a few things on my lunch break.)
Her response when i texted, asking how her day was going:
“My meeting starts in 12mins…Jeep is fun.”

Now, she’s already a huge fan of the TJ, but her driving a lifted rig on 35’s to her school with a load of classroom supplies and a timeline/deadline, was a pretty good usefulness test. Made me happy. 😊

You say that....but a) we're talking about the government and b) I'm betting you wouldn't want the mountain of paperwork and legal repercussions that go with someone not following the rules and creating an "incident".

I'd wager half the hoons on this very forum would consider going off track, even after being warned repeatedly and seeing off the mother and child... :D

Granted I got out of the Air Force in 2004 and haven't kept close tabs on things since then, but I didn't realize they had packed up Eglin and moved it from FL to AL.

Hmmm, maybe I left mine on and just didn't realize it. Top was off and I was having a great ride... Sun was bright, so I could have overlooked the blinking light!

I got lost on Ft. Knox several years ago and wound up in the tank training ground, in the middle of a live fire simulation. Luckily I wasn't driving. The Sgt. who was got in deep shit since I was a civilian.

Removed the garbage Rugged Ridge protectors and put down Xpel on both sides. The RR protectors had water and all kinds of crud under them.

When it is time to swap back to the hard top, I'm going to do the tub rails.

Had a hell of a time finding a suitable vacuum elbow to replace the broken one:

I went to no less than three auto parts stores, before I found someone who actually knew what the fuck I was talking about. Guy at the first store - an Auto Zone - thought I was talking about a vacuum cleaner, the O'Reilly's I stopped at next was clueless - I looked over their Dorman "Help!" assortments (at both stores) and didn't see anything. Then I went to an Advanced Auto and the guy knew exactly what I needed and led me straight to it!

Forensic analysis: The soft rubber elbow that I installed a couple of years back couldn't take the underhood heat, softened, then broke. Thumbnail was able to cut through the thing with little effort (circled). OEM rubber fittings don't have this problem. New hard plastic elbow replaced it - hopefully with better long term results.

Installed. I used heat shrink to ensure a leak free installation.

Glamour shot - center vent functionality restored! Hopefully it'll stay that way. At least I got to practice my macro photography skills.
