The tip that made it much easier for me to back a trailer was this; Turn the bottom of the steering wheel in the direction you want the trailer to go. Also, the longer the trailer(the farther the trailer wheels are from the hitch), the easier they are to back up. Hope this helps.
yeah, been told that plenty. But the one time I had to back a trailer it didn't go well. But since then I've watched a bunch of videos and I'll have an opportunity to spend a few hours of low-pressure practice before we do this. I keep telling myself that a tiny % of the population can rebuild an automatic transmission, whereas seems like every jackass in suburbia can back their boat down the ramp....no way I can't do this. Just need practice.
