What did you do to your TJ today?

Added the Xpel to the tub rails. It was pretty easy. We'll see how it holds up when I put the soft top back on this evening.

mjonesjr84, I put the Xpel on my door sills yesterday. I, too, am interested to see how it holds up. I wasn't all that impressed with the adhesive they used. Although it is holding through all those 90° there currently, it didn't seem to have as strong a bond as I would expect to be needed for that application. I fear that time and conditions will not be kind to it. At least it was relatively inexpensive and pretty easy to apply!

My door seals are rock solid. I think the adhesive is soft up front so you can move it around. I think that is why the instructions say to install it in the shade on cool body panels. Once it gets the sun/heat on it, the adhesive sits up.

While the frame was open I needle scaled the inside to “smooth” and brush applied Zero Rust

Problem I have is when welding the sections to the old frame I’m sure the interior paint is being burnt away.

After this is done I’ll probably maintain it with some sort of oil product.

Unfortunately i didn’t photograph the inside when prepped but i will on the passenger side.

This is a fun project but in the end next time I’ll spend more and buy a rust free Jeep

Eastwood makes a product (paint) that uses a tube and a 360° spray tip to paint inside the frame,

I've had Xpel on my door sills for a year without any issues, but I've only put about 2.5 - 3k miles on it in that time. Temperatures in my garage range from 40 - 110 degrees, if that's at all helpful.

So far I've been very impressed. It is rock hard on my door sills. Hopefully it holds up as well on my tub rails.

Purchased a new upgraded Tom Woods front driveshaft.
Leaving for a 3 week trip to the Philippines this Sunday; so upgrading the driveshaft will need to wait until I return.

Young kids who like to scare you from behind? Asshole friends who like to prank? Trying to hide something from the wife/gf?

Come on - you've got to share what's up with the mirror... Who are you afraid is behind you when you're working at the bench? :D

I have the entire front of my Superduty PPF’d with XPEL clear and it’s held up fine.

Installed Dynamat and Bedrug. Ordered Bartact seat covers in black with gray inserts, front & rear, so let the waiting begin. There is a Bedrug piece that goes over the tailgate but my 2006 has vents. Don't know for sure what purpose those vents are for with soft top. I didn't do it but do you think it is OK to cover?

The vents are to relieve pressure in the cab.
