What did you do to your TJ today?

Got the Moab wheels and Falken tires mounted, took the windows out, and took the LJ to my first Cruise In. Learned it's mostly about sitting and sipping whiskey with your friends.

I think that's the last time I'm using Blind Tommy's Discount Auto Body. Maybe it's just me but that color match seems a bit off... :sneaky:

Started tearing into the half doors I snagged last weekend for a general condition assessment and to develop a parts order list. Turns out the passenger door is in far better shape than the drivers in pretty much every way. For shits and giggles I threw it on Tessie, slid into place with only a cursory cleanup of the hinge pins. The door could go straight back a hair to even the panel gaps front to rear, but other than that it's spot on.

I didn't bother with trying to hang the drivers door, the hinges were well off square to the door and I'm starting to wonder if it wasn't dropped hinge-edge down at some point. Someone really shit the bed on the door check footman's loop as well, the original fasteners were both snapped off in the door, a failed attempt was made to drill them out, the loop was relocated and tore out an additional two times and it was about to go for a hat trick at the newest location. The reinforcing plate spot welded inside the door is there for a reason, but it's clear a previous owner didn't clock that.

We had a barber named Shakey Bob. No joke. Best plan when only he was available …cut your own hair with a fork.

Doesn’t look like alot but got the lower/upper links out and the spring buckets cut off, track bar bracket out. Have to build new lower links(long story), but it’s the right thing to do here. Upper will be triangulated kit from Barnes. Waiting on link parts now, so will do some furthe axle prep and work to get it under jeep to see about where it will sit then the real fun begins. Frame cut and Frenching in towers for 12” King Coilovers. Long way to go but today was one of those that we needed to get out of way and get done. Will have rear Anti Rock as well.

Added what is hopefully my final and permanent doors off mirror solution.

Amazon Chinese grab handles and motorcycle mirrors. They flip up out of the way when the doors are on and the handle is still functional, but I don’t have gorilla handsView attachment 553512View attachment 553513

Passenger side is “mirrored”
After replacing my cheapo Amazon ones with the CMM's with the removable mirror's, I couldn't go back.

Creative idea.

Good to hear!!!!

Glad you got it figured out!!!

I used to fix my "wobbly tire" issues at the car wash. Cost me $12 many years ago. ;)
p.s. Our local car wash self-service is still $2 for 5 minutes. It still works magic after a night of red clay mud. Not sure what that stuff was you guys called mud was when you wheeled with @Jerry Bransford. Looked like @AndyG splashed you guys going through a puddle at the Taco Bell drive thru. ;)
