Put my airbag back onto my steering wheel. Had to source the screws, future readers will be interested to know that an M6x1.00x25mm will work great. There is some forgiveness on the length; it doesn't bottom out for at least another 10mm.
Actually yesterday.. I went to adjust rear view mirror as the wife moved it when she drove the TJ the day before, lo and behold it came off. There I sat with the mirror in my hand..lol Had to buy a mirror adhesive kit. Cleaned and installed the button. Says to wait at least a half hour before installing the mirror. Forgot about it till this morning. lol Should be plenty dried by then. Mirror is in place and solid. Tough job, but somebody had to do it..lol
Took a very unexpected trip yesterday. Wife called me from work and crying. Her brother had a apparent heart attack at work, while talking on the phone to his wife. CPR didn't work and he was pronounced dead. He was only 62. Just such a shock. He was planning on retiring next year and enjoying retirement. He was a great guy. You just never know. Enjoy your life now.

When I was 5 or 6, (around 1956) my aunt left me and my four brothers and sisters in the car without setting the parking brake. It was a 'three on the tree' and before you knew it, the lever had been knocked out of gear. We were parked on the top of a sloped driveway. We went down the driveway, across the street and up into the yard across. We started back down, headed for a huge walnut tree. The man who lived across the street was an LEO and he jumped up, ran down the hill to the car, reached in and pulled the brake handle. I'm not saying he saved our lives, but it was very close. So, yeah, I use the parking brake, as do all of my family.
My condolences to you, your wife, and your family, Boog. Loosing a sibling is especially tough.

I grew up in San Antonio. My step dad had just bought a brand new Lincoln Town Car. Fully loaded. Totally cush. My grandparents were up from Brownsville and my mom drove them to the store to pick up a few things. My sisters were in the back seat and I was in the front seat. As my mom gets out of the car she says, "Don't touch anything!"
Well I of course jumped behind the steering wheel and imagined I was Richard Petty sawing the steering wheel back an forth on my way to the checkered flag. Oopsie, my bony arm bumped the gear shift out of park and we started rolling. Down the sloped parking lot. Over the curb. Across the street. Into a yard and into a house. All I remember is my sisters in the back seat screaming their heads off and me doing the little kid version of, "Oh Sh!t, oh sh!t, oh sh!t".
I blacked out. The next thing I remember was a police officer or EMT guy trying to coax me out of the front seat. I didn't want to get out because I knew I was going to be in BIG trouble.
To this day that house has concrete poles painted safety yellow along their property line.
Got an early start on some much needed maintenance. Dropped the tank to swap the pump and skid. Cleaned up some rust and put some rubberized undercoating above the tank. So far so good. Hopefully this Napa pump will work for another 27 years. I found an open short on the ground wire that I guess was causing my sending unit to act weird at times. The vent hose is broken at the T on the passenger side so I guess I’ll get into the schematic and see how to fix that. I need a few new bolts as I snapped a few off while hitting them with the impact. Also it looks like the tank has been swapped out before because it says 2000 wrangler in yellow paint pen while mine is a 97. Hard to tell how many miles were actually on it but my odometer says 149k.

I have seen my share of rollaways. Then there's the situation where a mechanic or other "not me" person who goes to move my car, and you can see it lurch and stop because they didn't disengage the brake because they're not used to doing so.
