What did you do to your TJ today?

I have one of these. I bought originally for my Subaru to be able to see transmission fluid temperature only to find out that it didn’t read that. I found it in the garage a couple of weeks ago and installed in the jeep. They are kinda cool and it has more data than anyone needs but the biggest thing I found out is that it doesn’t like the sun. I have it mounted on the dash on the driver side behind my registration sticker. After sitting in the lot at work it will start beeping and telling me that it’s too hot and it starts acting wonky till it cools down a bit.

Interesting, we have four of them and haven’t experienced most that. We will get the occasional “beep” that the unit is hot, but other than that it operates as normal other then the display being a little light colored. But works and displays the information as needed. Usually after a couple of minutes of the ac being on the color of the display returns to normal.

It’s definitely strange. Possible that it’s just my unit.

The beeping is annoying, that is for sure. But it can be stopped by pressing the down button on the rear of the unit. We live in the Sacramento area of CA so it does get warm. We’ve just never had it not show the correct information.

It just seems like a handy unit and can monitor a lot of different items in the car. Some I am not even sure what the purpose is of the information or how important it is. In our JK’s we can cycle through the display options in the dash and get the oil pressure info, but for some reason that is not an option on the Ultragauge which is annoying.

Please tell me about that jack

Harbor freight special lol it’s a 300 lb transmission jack that you use anything with a 1/2” drive on it. I’ve used my impact or a ratchet to raise and lower it. It comes with straps that you can tie down whatever. Cost me about $100 new. Definitely a nice tool to have even if you only use it a couple times in your life lol

Mine were like yours when I did my fuel pump. I got a tee and connected the two lines together and to the steel line. It's worked since 2011 , who knows if it's correct ....;)

That’s what I was going to do too lol I ordered a couple different sizes of brass Ys from amazon yesterday and was planning to splice them together just like that.

It is rather annoying. It’s really got me thinking that there’s just something going on with mine. I’ll have to dig into and see.
It does have a lot of information available. I just want basic info like coolant and oil pressure.

Started repairing the 2 cracks on my driver door panel. Now just got to find time to sand and paint both door panels.

I’d love to see how you did that.
I used this kit.

Upgraded 220W Plastic Welder, 2 in 1 Plastic Welding Kit Plastic Repair Welder Kit 1000PCS Hot Stapler Soldering Gun with 100PCS Plastic Welding Rods Car Bumper Repair Kit for Most Plastic Repair https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B4RDHKDR?tag=wranglerorg-20

It has the metal pins and a lot of different plastic fillers that you can heat and melt into the crack. It took me longer to R&R the panel than it did to do what is in the pictures. The metal pins push in the end of the gun, you put the pin where you want it, pull the trigger, and it instantly heats the pint and melts into the plastic panel. There is a knife end that you can melt the filler material into the crack after it is pinned.

I drilled a small hole at the end of the cracks to stop them a couple months ago.

Once sanded and painted, I do expect to still see where it was done since the texture won't be the same.

Thanks for that. Nicely done.

Before I sand and paint, I probably will go back in on the back and fill in some of the filler material on top of the pins just to help it hold better.

I you want to go full anal-retentive, you could probably do a little work to the visible side of the repair with an o-ring pick or scratch awl and recreate a bit of the graining texture in your repair once you have it sanded down to where you want. As @NashvilleTJ said, nice work so far.

Might just have to pick one of those tools up myself. Only the passenger side is cracked on mine, but someone had pulled the door card at some point and must have gotten a bit ham-fisted when doing so as the inner weatherstrip has been jacked up a bit in the area of the split and is all wiggly now (that's a technical term ;)).

I am OCD so I will do whatever I can to recreate the texture. It is going to drive me nuts for the next month with the filler like it is in the pictures. I just have other things I need to get done before finishing this.

No worries. We will wait…

Chris please give him the Golden Lug Nut symbol on his header.

Good job sir.

Hope everyone takes heed and avoids the shame and humiliation I have suffered at the hands of various perverts. Rurnin’ my life.
