What did you do to your TJ today?

Big accomplishment this week. I replaced the seat foam in the driver's seat. I took my time and walked away from it when I got frustrated. That strategy kept me from breaking things. Not difficult to do, just challenging. The worst part was trying to get the seat cover back on. The new foam really does not leave any slack. I ended up using wood clamps to compress the front edge so that I could pull the cover over enough to clip it back onto the frame. Drove it to work this morning and had to adjust all of my mirrors. My lower back and right hip are not fatigued like they use to be. This is going to be great on our trips when we are on the trail crawling around in the woods all day. My greatest worry was that I would get it all buttoned up and then my seat heater would not work. Worked great today. Only downside is that I was trying to pull the cover over the left hand edge to get the cover lined up correctly and it ripped all the way down the seam. All those years of running without a top and doors in the summer must have baked that section. It was so brittle that that seam just let go all the way. I guess I need to buy seat covers now.

Replace fuel pump assemble. This thing runs the best it ever has. It still ran but felt sluggish and sometimes had to crank longer to start, all that is gone now.

I posted my Jeep for sale. I asked my wife if she would deal with the people. After her brother's funeral, she likes/needs distractions. We visited her Mom yesterday for 4 hours. She lives an hour away. Too many issues for me to deal with the output shaft seal BS too. I don't like dealing with people trying to lowball me on the price. I'd take $9,000 cash right now. Most likely I'll leave the forums after the sale. Take care people. Life goes on for most people. GREAT forum @Chris. This forum is definitely the #1 Jeep forum anywhere. (y)

Are there no forum members close to boogie that can help? Hate to see a long time forum (on many forums) member leave.

I fixed my Bestop Supertop header bow.

Long story short, the pin that the right frame rail connects to had broken out of the header bow, and as you would expect, this is NOT a warrantable issue.

Bestop wants me to spend $170 to replace the header bow, but that's not happening right now.

The metal slug was molded into the header bow and notice that there is NOT a screw in the countersunk hole of the header bow.

To fix it, I first tapped the hole in the slug for an 8-32 screw.
Then I mixed up some epoxy and put a bead around the slug to bond the plastic back to the header.

Shoved the slug back into the header and tightened the screw.

Should work for quite a while now.

I installed a screw on the left side too, just for good measure.

The question is, are the bangers spicy? My in-laws spent a lot of time in England (Air Force) and they talk about the food and that bangers are sort of tasteless and lack flavor.

Some of the sausages in England are quite bland but I haven’t been back there in 28 years so I’m sure they’re better now …maybe.
The ones here in New Zealand have quite a variety. The Venice one was pretty tasty yesterday

Tasteless and lacking flavor pretty much DEFINES English food. Spent 2 weeks there for work in 2005 and the best meal we had was cheeseburgers at the Heathrow Hard Rock.

Speech to text is a bitch sometimes. :D

Ooops haha Especially with my accent…. I’ve got in trouble a couple times using speech text… There are a few words that sound like ‘duck’ you do not want to send to your mum… 😂
