What did you do to your TJ today?

Started the axle swap. Knock on wood, but this is progress after 3 hours.

The old shocks are fully extended. I assume the Bilstein's have a little more to stretch out.

Should I use the very top holes for the track bar on the axle side?

Hopefully the back finishes up as easily and the front goes as well. I want to go to an off-road group event Sunday. Thank goodness for having PTO to use or lose.

Some of the sausages in England are quite bland but I haven’t been back there in 28 years so I’m sure they’re better now …maybe.
The ones here in New Zealand have quite a variety. The Venice one was pretty tasty yesterday

Its the same here. The former colonies have much better food than the old country😉🇳🇿🇺🇲

I posted my Jeep for sale. I asked my wife if she would deal with the people. After her brother's funeral, she likes/needs distractions. We visited her Mom yesterday for 4 hours. She lives an hour away. Too many issues for me to deal with the output shaft seal BS too. I don't like dealing with people trying to lowball me on the price. I'd take $9,000 cash right now. Most likely I'll leave the forums after the sale. Take care people. Life goes on for most people. GREAT forum @Chris. This forum is definitely the #1 Jeep forum anywhere. (y)

Just stop it. You do this to yourself on a cycle and regret it.

Park it at a friend's for a month, take a deep breath and then realize it's only a seal!

How many miles does it have on it? I looked in the for sale section and didn’t see anything?

Big accomplishment this week. I replaced the seat foam in the driver's seat. I took my time and walked away from it when I got frustrated. That strategy kept me from breaking things. Not difficult to do, just challenging. The worst part was trying to get the seat cover back on. The new foam really does not leave any slack. I ended up using wood clamps to compress the front edge so that I could pull the cover over enough to clip it back onto the frame. Drove it to work this morning and had to adjust all of my mirrors. My lower back and right hip are not fatigued like they use to be. This is going to be great on our trips when we are on the trail crawling around in the woods all day. My greatest worry was that I would get it all buttoned up and then my seat heater would not work. Worked great today. Only downside is that I was trying to pull the cover over the left hand edge to get the cover lined up correctly and it ripped all the way down the seam. All those years of running without a top and doors in the summer must have baked that section. It was so brittle that that seam just let go all the way. I guess I need to buy seat covers now.

I have an extra driver's seat cover in Dark Slate Grey from my 2004 that's in good condition.

Drove it to a local NE Ohio dealer to look at this. Pulled in snd a salesman approached and asked if I was tired of the old Jeep I was in, and wanted to trade it on this excellent one.
I had him join me in viewing the undercarriage of it which is rusted beyond belief, and is coated with some rubberized undercoating. Also has several different style bolts holding up the belly pan. Body and top were a 7 out of ten.

Pretty pathetic.
Sad thing is, some unsuspecting father will buy it for his kid

Sorry to hear that, always enjoy your input.

I don’t know about Blistein shocks on a TJ, but happy with them on our JK’s. If like mine, they will extend after cutting the strap.

Can you even buy a new frame if you wanted to swap it? Bone yards?

Finished my analog to analog/digital trans temp gauge with close back housing-

It will change brightness when you turn the headlights on-

I’m gonna have to pick a different fuse or tap into the battery - I’m getting some interference from the engine when i use the dimmer.

I cracked the brass fitting - went old school.

Now one day the @Plumber1 is going to look under it and say “oh no it’s galvanized you get to replace everything- this is gonna cost ya “ 🤣

Got the rear axle completed, except for the ARB air line. Got the front as far as I can for now. I didn't realize that I needed a 7° ball joint reamer. They are impossible to find in a store so it will stay on the lift until next weekend.

East Coast Gear sent me 2 different parking brake cables. Their customer service is top notch. Called at 10 this morning and they'll be here Monday.

Tomorrow I'll run the air lines and see if I need to order driveshafts or not.

Line leak -

Shop used a brass compression T on a steel line- then barely snugged it because the brass rings won’t seat on steel without cracking the nuts.

It seeped...I snugged them and cracked the nuts-

Glad I found the weakness.

Lesson: set things up like Blaine specifies.

I delayed installing the pan he set up with a temp sensor bung. Live, learn and buy more ATF +4.
