What did you do to your TJ today?

Feel like I am way behind on knowledge but after going down the whole "Toyota headlights for cheap" thread, I got the parts on order for $30. I, personally, don't like the looks of 99% of the led headlights on the market for TJs, but would like better output than stock. Local Toyota stealership said they should be in tomorrow so we shall see!!!

I don't either which is why I bit the bullet for Holley Retrobrights. Had I known about the Toyota headlights beforehand I would have gone that route and saved myself some coin.

I was looking at E-codes w/ quality bulbs, the Holleys, and the KC options then found the Toyota option. Worth a shot at the pricepoint. My brother has the new style leds in his 06 TJ and they just look out of place to me for some reason. A little bug eyed. Lol.

Since you are not using LEDs I would highly recommend installing a head light wiring harness with relay so the current doesn't go through the head light switch which is a chokepoint. Installing this harness is easy and will make your lights at least 50% brighter.

The Toyota lights come with a relayed harness as well. Another reason I went that route in the event I want to run 100W bulbs instead of what comes with them. I believe 60W comes with.

That's why I jumped on the ones that @red02tj had posted for sale!!!!

Now I need to install them, probably Saturday, since last Saturday was spent wheeling with my friend @tnjeepguy

Installed my old VHF radio. ICOM IC-F320MN-6. With thousands of miles of private logging road 5 minutes from my backdoor, it's a safety measure. If you've never seen a Hayes/HDX or a Pacific P loaded to the nuts ... 16ft. log bunks (inside measure) they are big! I loaded these trucks for 4+ decades. Google up HDX or Pacific logging trucks, also known as 'fat trucks' . . . you'll see! 😊

I have a playlist called “Jeep Music,” and that is one of the tracks. Along with “Call Me the Breeze”, “Gimme Three Steps,” “Drinkin’ My Baby Goodbye,” “Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy,” and other classics meant for blastin’ with the top down.

They sounds like a good one - turn it up.

Looks good. Be sure to put down a good coat of wax on the paint because you will accumulate dirt and want to protect the paint.

When I first read your post, I only skimmed it and thought you were referencing the bumper 'floaties' since you have those off. As a warning, if you offroad near rocks, please protect your corner.

These were mine and did major protection of the tub.

Just passing forward a caution if you do use your Jeep in rock environments.

If you're looking for replacement milk jugs, I've got a full set you can have for free...I believe you're in the PRoMD, if memory serves...

"Major protection of the tub"? A shopping cart in the grocery store parking lot will flatten those "milk jugs".

I did that harness upgrade on my XJ and it made a big difference, even with halogen headlights.
p.s. I still miss that Jeep.
