What did you do to your TJ today?

SPECWAR.jpeg

Well no since the biggest rock crawl I get to do in NJ is the speed bump leading to the Olive Garden restaurant at the Rockaway Mall. Good to see the wheels choosen in some real action. Actually the guy I wanted to copy was "SPECWAR" but I left the final decision up to my son... either AR-62 or AR-23. Years ago he had them on his 97 TJ and was pushing for them... so it was OK with me. My boy knows I'm a softy...

Any recs for an AC evap core? I'm looking at RockAuto right now and I'm leaning towards the UAC EV4864999PFXC. The other option is the FOUR SEASONS 54188.

Curious on your antenna useability. I live between 2 cities and get about 50% decent depending which way I drive. And that's on the OEM longer antenna.

You're not the first I've seen go to a lower profile antenna so curious your experience, given your area.

Put it on yesterday so allow me some time to give you an honest opinion. My OEM antenna was OK but missing the "ball" on its end so don't know if that made a difference. Being retired I don't have to travel too much anymore and my North/West area is very mountainous so stations would drop the HD signal every so often. Will see if this antenna improves that or make it worse.

Test drove “Bens deployment build “. Unbelievably no vibes whatsoever first run out. Cruises at all speeds. Didn’t get over 75 for long but so smooth and comfortable. Actually really proud of Dave and I.

Running out of time and still need to

- finish the locker pump relocation
- replace rear main seal
- get new tires mounted
- have new tailpipe fabbed up
- have it final aligned at the shop
- mount engine and transfer case skids

So close.

RMS will be here Tuesday, locker pump’s tomorrow and then off to the shop for the next few items.

I love “building “ Jeeps.

Pardon the shit photos my phone camera is busted but works in zoom out.

The fire extinguisher thread motivated me to finally replace the wiring for my fog lights. I was using the 16ga relay kit that came with an Amazon LED special but I’d swapped back to some KC100w halogens. Now running a proper relayed 12awg kit.

Continuing on my wire safety journey. Ordered the wiring kit from https://custombatterycables.com/product/jeep-wrangler-tj-i-6-6-cyl-4-0l-1997-2006-2ga-std-145/. I looked at the KHS and Jeep cables kit but the others didn’t include both the 90* bend of the PDC or military terminals.

Figured this was an accident waiting to happen.

You'll be pleasantly surprised how the upgraded cables perform. Mine turned over a lot faster and held voltage much better afterwards.

Use what works for you John .

They have been sitting in a Amazon list of stuff for over a year.

After our Coppinger cove ride, the worn out RC fixed arms were really making a lot of noise.

My wife asked what it was and I told her. The next day she had convinced the grown kids to buy them split 3 ways.

I gotta good family!!!!!
