What did you do to your TJ today?

Finally did the Toyota headlight swap. Also had to do a headlight bracket replacement since all the adjusting screws where rusted frozen. Got the the headlights aimed.

And of course now when I turn the factory fog lights on the passenger side fog light and blinker/signal lamp doesn't work. Signal and driving light work fine when fog lights are off.

Yesterday we took LJ through the Ozarks on part of the Ozark Overland Adventure Trail . Nothing challenging , just a couple of water crossing that submerged the 33 inch tires after the 10 plus inches of rain a few days ago . Glad I waited at few days after the rain the water would have been too deep and too swift . Lj performed like a champ . I believe we covered a total of 230 miles , most of that was blacktop to and from . We did eat excellent burgers and pie at the Oark General store . It is the longest continuous running store in Arkansas opening in 1890 . After Oark , we went to Bub's Cabin then to Carwash Falls . Made it back to the coach about an hour after dark . It was a fun day and we were worn out . It's been a while since we rode all day in the Jeep .

Veteran's Day means it's time to perform my annual oil and filter change; Castrol GTX High Mileage 10W-30 and Wix 51085. Almost 6 quarts came out which was cool and I took a sample to send Blackstone.

Switched the half doors out for the full doors.

Tried to lube the suspension but ran out of Red N' Tacky after two zerks. I'll get some this week when I drop the used oil at O'Reilly's.

Replaced a headlight retainer ring that had a tab pop off. Then checked and adjusted my headlights alignment.

After almost five years of ownership, I drilled my first holes on this Jeep. Mounted the Koito bits on the fuse box using some press-in retainers.

Last but NOT least:

Dear brothers and sisters, I hope y'all are doing well today. Take care.

Did a refresh on the front end... Replaced the Hella's I've had for a few years with KC's purchased from @Chris

Didn't use the harness. Opened the lights up and replaced the wires with modified connectors to mate up to the HD harness already installed and controlled via the Auxbeam switch panel mounted in the center stack. Lamin-X protection film on the lenses to protect them from sandblasting.

Still need to re-route the OBA QR. That bracket that @Zorba had in the ForSale forum would have worked great.

The stock grill was a hot mess. PO installed those silly snap-in grill inserts that scratched the crap out of the paint. Installed a stock grill overlay I got from a friend for free.. it's got three coats of self-etching primer and three coats of SEM Trim Black paint. Front end finally looks in good order.

One annoyance is the vertical ratcheting on the screw mounts on the KC lights. Lights are aligned a snick too low. Move up one ratchet on the mounting screw and the lights are a snick too high. I'll figure something out. Maybe a small shim under the mount on the light or more lift.

I need to do this twice and route some air line to the front and back.
I have the parts to run a second pickup out back, but have yet to do it. Been sitting on that project for a few years. Can't find a spot for the QR that I like and I have no issues pulling the hose from the front. The TJ is small and the hose is more than long enough without being unwieldy. I carry more than twice what is needed to get to the rear wheels.. Never know who else is going to be in need.

Cleaned up a bit of the wiring in the engine bay, then took another stab at figuring out the "hesitation" between 2500-3000 RPM. Confirmed that it happens in neutral too, just like it does when actually driving down the road.
Maybe it's the timing belt tension causing it? I can definitely hear it sort of slapping the plastic cover 🤔

So I have a 2004 TJ. I swapped an AX15 in it last year. I need a lower shift boot however. Tired of the hot ass air blowing in all the time. Mines all torn up even before I swapped the transmission. Replacements for the 2004 shifter boot are around 200$ though. Has anybody used this?

Or if anybody knows of a part I could use instead that would be appreciated.

I have an 01 and the inner boot is a total mess. Thinking of trying this fix
