Thankfully I have a spare for the same reason

New denso unit in place like nothing ever happenedI'm glad I went on a cruise with my brother cause I was just gonna go to sleep otherwise I woulda been stranded on my way to work,That's God's timing right there
!
As I'm editing this,it's pouring rain right now,it was when I was cruising and the rain stopped (so i changed my alt.) And now it's pouring again.Thats amazing
Would've been a perfect excuse to tell the wife it's a turbo and it needed "replaced"![]()
Wife?......I'm a bit too young for all that,I'm 20 lol
However I have an oil pan with a bung I welded on for a turbo drain,Once I get around to changing my RMS I'll install that pan so it'll be one less thing to worry about for when i get the rest of my turbo stuffI still wanna do my stroker first but I may turbo my Lj first and then blow it up once I get a new engine on handy !
Installed new rear seatbelts, originals were tricky to release properly for kiddo. Went with a Cobalt blue set from Seat Belts Plus. Fast shipping and easy installation.
Also cleaned up the tub and finally got around to installing the BedRug carpet kit for cargo, back and front seat sections. Really happy with this, quieted things down a lot more than I was expecting. Also really helped with heat on the tunnel over the transmission. Have had the Jeep about a year, came without carpet, just the bare metal floorpan. Very nice improvement.

One of the machinists at work built similar, but made of solid aluminum, and it didn’t appear to be as tall as that one.
Went at the stock fender flares. Took the old trim treatment off with acetone then applied heat with a butane torch then applied linseed oil. View attachment 597445View attachment 597446
There's actually a warning on the tunnel somewhere talking about the carpet insulating from the heat
So not just "today", but over the last two months or so of free time ha, I've been working on an Audio/Tech upgrade for the TJ and finally wrapped it up over the weekend. Installed a high-res double-din display head unit/surround, new speakers w/ dedicated Kicker amp, and a Kicker self-contained subwoofer since my factory unit was missing. Nothing high end (other than the Metra dash kit is fantastic, don't settle for less on that!). Just wanted to bring the TJ into the modern-day world tech wise for daily driving enjoyment.
Benefits are MASSIVELY better sound because of the new amp/speakers/sub compared to stock or in my case stock missing components. Plus, now have a reverse camera that turns on automatically w/ reverse gear (can't see shit over that spare tire lol), FULL wired OR wireless Apple Car Play or Android, hands free calling, "Hey Siri" support, XM/Sirius satellite radio, large GPS display yadayada.... ironically, my TJ is now more user tech advanced than my wife's '19 Cadillac or my recently sold '21 Gladiator.
Wireless Car Play is actually really cool, enjoying it every single time I get in my Jeep. It connects very fast.
I stress I wasn't trying to go HIGH END audiophile stuff here, just wanted "much better" than it was previously plus add all the new cool stuff. Worked out awesome, Crutchfield for the win! If anyone has questions on details let me know, happy to help.
