Keep teaching them. Now when either of my 2 boys complain about an issue with their Jeeps I just tell them they know what to do so go deal with it.

Removed the spare tire, tire carrier & bumpstops. I noticed something rattling back there while driving, wondered what it was. The tire carrier was hella loose. Not even hand tight, I'm surprised it hadn't fallen off. I like how it looks without the tire, and it could be my imagination but it feels like it handles better without it. No more rattle either, thats definitely what it was. Scratched the tailgate up a bit tho, but it cleaned up pretty nice. I also found out why my 3rd brake light didn't work, the wire was cut and taped at the contacts on the tailgate. So that sucks. I think I'll run no spare for awhile and see how I like it.

Nothing...it's still stuck in the shop thanks to Labor Day weekend...and a single broken bolt. I haven't been apart from it this long since I bought it.

Not to be a smart A but does it have two sets of hinges? Shouldn't be that tight for sure.
yes two hinges per door..lol .all four aren't moving... might have to take it into a shop and see if they have any ideas

Same here; removed mine and I like the way it looks so much I'm keeping it as is, for now. Does mine drive differently? Probably a little bouncier over bumps, but not enough for me to regret the move.

Sprayed the cargo area with bedliner. Then undercoating on the frame and bottom side of the tub today.

Just hope you don't get a flat.

I mainly drive around town, if I go on a trip anywhere or wheeling I'd be sure to put the spare back on.

I got two flats in my entire driving lifetime: one a few miles from home which was a 7 inch nail and another was a drive to mom's (few miles) and another 3" nail. I had a spare both times.

But I'm sure you can always ring someone to go get your spare if you ever really need it or have a puncture kit on board (a really useful thing to have in your jeep 24/7) along with an air compressor.

This weekend's project was just to see that the antifreeze was adequate in my "new to me" 1999 sport. The water antifreeze mix was so dirty I could not see the little floats in the tester. Drained it and flushed it out four times. Then put in a new 50% mix.

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg I removed my spare tire because my tailgate hinges need to be painted. I think my spare is the original 20 year old spare and it's the first time it's ever been removed. I was afraid the studs would snap, but it came off easy.

Surprised your hinges lasted that long. Mine pooped out a while back and my first TJ (2000) had failing hinges when it was only 4-5 years old.
