Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ engine mounts

What did you do to your TJ today?

I’m liking the True Tracks. I’ve had them for nearly 5 years now & they do everything I need. My TJ isn’t a mall crawler or anything, but it’s too nice to risk body damage & we also tow it behind our motorhome so we really can’t risk any broken parts because we need it for transportation. I don’t mind getting it dirty, but nothing extreme. The few times I’ve had to “send it” the True Tracks were fine. The best thing is that there’s no air lines, wiring or anything you have to switch on or off.

I absolutely loved my Eaton truetrac,Awesome for drifting&donuts&burnouts but it also holds up pretty good for what it is on tight spots on the rocks,Gotta finese the brake to lock the diff sone but other than that its great on my daily driven Lj😁

⚠️warning⚠️ Yap Session Incoming⬇😆:

It's been a week since I swapped axles on my Lj with an axle with 4.88s and Dayuum....is it boring to drive (mainly cause the air locker isn't hooked up yet) but I'd rather have a diff that let's me do what I want whenever I want rather than being like "Ohh I wanna rip some drifts.....*seconds later* Ahhhh shoot I needa engage my locker🙄" I'll see what how it does for me when I hook my locker up up

My TJ has been sitting in the driveway due to a persistent no-start condition, on a charge maintainer for a couple months as we slogged through single-digit low temps and blustery days here in the mitten. I looked on Amazon and found a number of cheap starters, and against my better instincts, ordered one and swapped it in during a rare few hours above freezing.

Of course, it does not work. Now that the weather has broken somewhat, I was able to push-start the Jeep and it runs fine, alternator charges the battery, all lights/electronics work, etc. When I try to bypass the starter switch and jump a wire direct to the starter, it just clicks. Dammit.

Of course, the return window at Amazon for this hunk of junk is now closed, so it's a $58 lesson I am passing on here. I should have bench tested this piece of pure Chinesium crap when it arrived, since it was too cold outside to install it.

And whatever I order from Bezos in the future (nothing if I can help it) will get checked as soon as I get it so if need be it will be a quick return.

Changed the oil (Mobil 1) and installed a "Hood latch skid plate" that is made & sold by member sunnysideup_lj. Adds a touch of class to the engine dept.

Put her up on jacks, and cleared the top end of everything to pull the intake so I can replace the full exhaust, manifolds to new OR magnaflow cat-back.

Mid job I'll be replacing the motor mounts, and dropping the oil pan to fix the rear main-seal oil leak. Then on to swap the stock NP231 for a RockTrac NP241 with a Novak cable shifter. Belly up skids go on with the new t-case, and a 3.5" RockJock lift, Bilstein shocks, with front and rear Anti-Rock sways. I've got some 1.25" spacers to accompany the new BFG KO3 33" mud terrains wrapping the stock Canyon wheels to finish it off.

This will by my first "wheeling" build... I figure I'll drive it a year or so to figure some things out and shake it down before swapping axles (and gears), moving on to 37's and high-lining the fenders.

half installed my new 1.25 body lift from black magic today! First day back from Florida, looks like I brought the warm weather north.

Got all but one body mount off with the impact, same rear spinning one as the project Sahara. Had to cut the head off, cut an access hole, bash the bolt up to get the square retainer out of the way then rip it out. I’m not gonna lie I think everyone would be wise to cut this access hole. This spot loves to trap crap and it’ll rot the tub out from the inside. Some of the bolts were in terrible shape, also swapped in new body mounts while I was at it.

MML is going in tomorrow!

If your are ~2wks outside the return window, a friendly chat explaining the situation with customer service will usually get you an exception.

I second this motion @red02tj knows what he’s talking about
….never give up , never surrender 😂 send an email..

Ugh, I tried. The product page and the Amazon storefront both trumpet the seller's 1 year warranty replacement coverage, but there is NO email link to contact the seller anywhere. Any of the contact links go to the Amazon chat bot since Amazon apparently fulfills orders for this seller, and even when I get ahold of an actual human (via chat), they just point out the return window is closed, and Amazon does not handle warranty claims for this manufacturer. So, theoretically, I have a 1 year warranty to replace this boat anchor, but no way to actually exercise it.

Also had to change the filters in my Subaru so decided to go and ahead and get a new one in the Jeep. I also checked the airbag fuses to see if that was the culprit to why my airbag light is on. I’m afraid it’s my bulb in the passenger airbag module. So going to try to fix that at some point. Just got to get a bulb first then figure out how to solder lol
