What did you do to your TJ today?

I made a “permanent plate” (paraphrasing the MiDNR) to put my ORV sticker and Trail Permit sticker on.

Decided to ‘plug’ the factory holes on my rocker panels, where the side fender used to sit. Could have painted them to match my factory paint, but decided to keep it black. It sort of gave the Jeep, in my opinion, a utilitarian-type of look. As long as its not an open hole, Im happy.

I found the ‘plug’ at Lowes. See image for size and item number.

Finally took the hardtop off last night, a month later than usual. Drive to work this morning was heavenly! I re-purposed my Spidy shade to function as a windjammer. It actually works quite well. @Jerry Bransford, you can set the seats all the way back and the bungees allow some stretch and doesn't impede your rear view.

Installed these today:
LX-LIGHT 7'' Round Black Cree LED Headlight High Low Beam for Jeep Wrangler JK TJ LJ CJ Hummber H1 H2 (Pair) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01B376YOE/?tag=wranglerorg-20

They look outstanding and the quality is surprisingly good. Well, good from what I can tell. They fit perfectly and went in with no issues. Will be driving them around town in the evening tomorrow.

Installed a Stahlbus oil drain valve to make oil changes easier with my new engine skid on.

It has a fitting with a hose attached that you push in, turn, and the oil drains. It has a cap sealed with an “O” ring to keep the crud out.

Popped my Savvy cherry (@Thunderhead) with a cable shifter.

Ordered a Mopar radiator to replace it. Damnit Jimbob!
That's the exact spot mine failed a few years back. I was a few hundred miles from home so now I'm running a aftermarket replacement from autozone.

The thought of running down to Advanced Auto parts and picking one up that they did have in stock crossed my mind, for about two or three seconds. Then I remembered that a factory replacement should be better quality, and is the recommended replacement by many that know better than I do.
Plus, I don’t want to risk a flame out or burn up on re-entry, or a roll over yard sale caused by a cheaper radiator.
Just this morning I almost lost it when my duct tape kicked in unexpectedly, and I couldn’t do anything but wave as I wheelied through an intersection. Others at the same stop light were so jealous as they cheered me on.

Worked on Friday/Saturday:

Installed new grab bars ordered off of ebay for $25. Online measurement instructions were a start but still needed to do some dremel work on the plastic trim to accommodate the "Y" mounting bracket.

Reinstalled gas tank (with new Bosch fuel filter assembly) and new hardware: used two Jack's and two jack stands to support tank. (still had a 1/4 tank of gas in it). A lot of spot checks to check clearance and alignment. Probably would have been easier with an empty gas tank and another person.

Tighten up bolts/fasteners of the Dirtworx rear bumper with swing away tire carrier.

Put in my new-to-me trunk, moved my new rear axles from one spot in the shop to another and received my Torq locker for my Dana 30. Figured as long as I am rehearing and going to have everything apart I would get something for the front and put it in while everything is I need pieces. Working on the rear axle currently so maybe the front next weekend.
