What did you do to your TJ today?

Caved in and took my Jeep to the shop for the MML install. Went from a $40 eBay aluminum spacer self install 2 weeks ago to a $360 MORE bombproof motor mount lift garage shop install🙄. Stupid bolt! Ahhh Jeep life....

Actually, what I did for my TJ today has been going on for two weeks now but, here's my story. It all started with changing out a VERY porous fuel tank skid plate and it turned into swapping out the fuel module, new vent lines/tees, new Rancho RS5000X shocks including drilling out one of the top bolts, corrosion control, JK headlight upgrade with blacked out trim rings, new nuts and bolts, attempted to install new shock buffers (the bastards won't go into the new cups), and of course the associated prep/painting of new parts and a gallon of anti seize. It all culminated with me checking the toe in adjustment and finding it grossly out of spec (bought the vehicle used and was remiss in checking certain things). SO, Rooster has been somewhat gone through and hopefully will respond well to his TLC.

Finally got my amp wired up for my 8” Alpine. Perfect combo for the Jeep. The sub completely makes up for the lack of mid-range bass. Amp fits nicely under the seat with a small piece of Velcro underneath to hold it to the carpet. Seat frame prevents anyone’s big feet from kicking it from the back seat.

I might weld the tie ins to the frame. Since the bolts are so deep inside the frame it didn’t seem like enough torque was put on them with just star nuts holding them in place.
I used Poisonspyder ties. The capture both nuts in a plate so you can apply adequate torque.

Not really just today, since buying our first Jeep this past Sept. I've replaced the carpet with a quality carpet kit, front and rear. Seat covers from Marathon, very nice Condura custom fit covers. Tinted the front door windows. Black smoked turn LED lights, well the front facing turn signal, its smoked lens with factory bulbs. I had bought LED for those but they are a two wire and the Jeep needs a three wire, so it became more of a PIA project then it was worth. The smoked front side LED turn/ markers are really sweet. Led headlights, and the MFS. Also a new front bumper. I'll post some Jeep porn later when I take some pics. Feels good driving it with a refreshed interior,,,gregg

Ran out and took some pics this morning . I repurposed a old bedliner for that back cargo area, I almost hauled it to the dump awhile ago, it should help protecting the carpet back there. When the current tires wear down, I'll go to 31" inch tires, these are 29's and a small 2" lift/shocks and that should be it for me as far as mods to the suspension. I read everyone's post about spring selection and shocks, trying to learn from you boys. I think I'm going to keep the GE wheels and the GE theme going, it has grown on me now. Here's your porn,,,gregg

Now that's a proper TJ "porn" spread. Whose carpet kit did you use?

https://www.stockinteriors.com/ it is heat/pressure molded and fit right. I just laid in place, no glue. I did gut the interior, seats, both consoles and rear set to install. There was dog hair and dirt, grime all thru out the interior. Like I posted, its much nicer to drive any vehicle with a fresh interior,,,gregg
That's who I'm looking at for carpet. Did you get the mass backing?

Finally got a friend with a welding truck to come out and do a little welding in my rear LCA/Track bar mount. Also had to tack one of the bolts that support the front of the fuel tank skid in place. (the square part of the bolt wore out enough it wouldn't hold the bolt from spinning any more:cautious:)

Now I get to put it all back together after a little clean up and flat black Rust-Oleum paint gets applied. More pics to come later.
