started making an attempt at replacing the oem rear brake hoses for my Dana 44 rear disc.
indeed the lines were oem which means 1 piece hard line fused to rubber line, i want all the rubber lines replaced at 150k & 16 years old.
ended up cutting and removing the original, bending a new line, flaring and went to install and found i cut the new hard line too short by about a inch. gave in and began bending a new line again then realized i dont want to have to fuss around with the other side with the same thing... ended up ordering a set of rear pre-bent lines online from a local manufacturer. eta is possibly thursday but i expect sooner as the shop is only about 1 1/2 hours away.
once i get my rear soft lines completed i should be complete with all the "its 16 years old and has 150k on it" aka do it before it fails repairs.
rear upper hose and front hoses were a breeze, these rear hoses are a bastard & i despise bending and flaring brake lines.. i can do it but im lazy and dont like fluid dripping from active lines while working on them.
otherwise i completed my serpentine pulley idler/tensioner replacement & cooling system refresh last weekend after all, weather cooperated. new water pump, thermostat, hoses and radiator. should order a new fan clutch and serp belt but they're still working and not difficult to get to.
