What did you do to your TJ today?

A little maintenance job I had in mind to do. Dismantle the faded hood fasteners, polish the halo on the bodywork that I was unable to pull away without removing the supports, and reinvigorate the plastic of the wheel arches etc. with Sintoflon, polish the bodywork with anti-pollen wax and water-repellent anti-resins. Complete internal and external washing of the chassis, complete check of all oil levels. Nothing complicated, but I love to see my Jeep in perfect condition both mechanically and in bodywork.

Technically nothing... but I did order this... 8 weeks of waiting begins...

View attachment 144666

I know how you feel. I ordered my BL and MML Monday and didn't realize the BL was on backorder and I still haven't heard anything on the MML. Both sent receipts saying they are in "process".

This waiting for stuff longer then a day or 2 is for the birds. LOL

When my door is fully open, I find myself pulling on the uppers post to close it. Or I will grab ahold of the door panel toward the top and pull on that. Today I decided to make a lanyard so I could pull on it instead.

Not sure what I'm going to do when I take the upper off? LOL Maybe I will have to fabricate some type of post to go in the holes? No, don't want to take the whole door off. I like running my half doors. :D

The hook on the bottom of the front bumper that you attached your winch clevis to, where did you get that? I could use one of those. Thanks.
The hook was a leftover from my 05, did not put it back on when i added a receiver hitch. Worked pretty well on the front of the 99, something other than the normal D ring you see

Changed out one of the tailgate hinges. The drill bits did not hold. Was able to get three of the bolts out but took a while. For the bottom hinge I’ll use a bigger drill bit to drill out the heads of the bolts. The 5/16 didn’t work out so well.
Also upgraded the size of the bolts and grade and added a plate to the area behind the top May get something better but for now I can close and Maneuver the gate without issues.
Also freed up the locks on the doors finally. Thus saving me money and time

have to get a bolt extractor to get the bolt that just won’t come out. Heat and locking pliers didn’t get it.

Replaced my Rugged Ridge front floor mats with some Weathertech mats. Ceratin shoes I wear were catching on the right side of the floor mat near the gas pedal due to them moving around.

These fit great, as expected.

Fit is way better. I have the rugged ridge in my LJ but had the weather tech in my 750. Loved them.

My wife's Camaro has them front, rear and trunk and we both love them. My only rear complaint on the Rugged Ridge ones are my foot catching sometime. Made for some awkward times getting back on the gas.

Charged the battery, then let my 15yo drive it in to town (w/ me of course) for a movie candy run and a stop at the quarter car wash. The steering wheel is currently off-center after I changed out the clock spring (stupid airbag light is on, too), so I gotta correct that. At first it was throwing him off and he kept swaying back and forth, but got it straightened out after a couple calmly communicated pointers from me.
