What did you do to your TJ today?

At 75° today, it was perfect to put my doors back together and try them on. I think they came out really well, I'm very happy with how well the colors match.
As I had stated earlier somewhere, I did in fact leave out the inner door lock rod so that I can only lock/unlock the doors with the key from the outside. My thoughts are that it would make it a lot more difficult to steal the doors with the top and windows off if you can't unlock them by reaching in by hand. Probably not theft proof, but certainly makes it much harder..

And lastly, in their "waiting for the soft top" hangers...

Great looking Rubicon!

That soft top looks great....
The Smittybuilt soft top the PO installed has leaks so I am looking to replace the one on my '01 later this summer.
Where did you purchase the kit and what did it cost ?
I bought mine from 4 Wheel Parts. Bestop does not have any rebates on the Replace A Tops this spring but 4WP offers a $100 trade in credit for old tops. I was going to drive to their Indianapolis location (hour and a half drive) for fun and get the rebate, but with the coronavirus stuff going on they allowed me to order online, have it shipped for free and they gave me the $100 trade in discount (normally in store only). So it was $499 plus tax, normally $599, best deal I could find right now.

Good looking soft top....
I looked at 4WPs and saw the $100 trade in discount...
Thank you... appreciate the information.

Started working on the 1.25" Savvy Body lift today. I was able to remove and loosen eight out of eleven of the body mounts bolts and pucks. The ones directly in front of the rear wheels are pretty tight and I can only turn them about 5 degrees tightening and loosening with lots of Kroil. Also the one under the grill is the same. I am going to keep spraying them and tightening and loosening them hoping that they will break loose.
I bow down to the Kroil gods! Sprayed the crap out of the three bolts yesterday and today. Broke out the 24" breaker bar and worked those babies back and forth and back and forth and voila...success. On to the body lift.

Replaced the stock stereo head unit with an aftermarket JVC head unit. This was incredibly easy, and I highly recommend forking out the $24 to have Crutchfield wire up the harness adapter. Just the new head unit alone has brought back some life in the stock speakers. I'll be looking to upgrade speakers next in a couple weeks.

Also, while I was at it I replaced the HVAC bulbs with new LED bulbs. A couple of the stock bulbs were shot, so this was a huge improvement. Went ahead and swapped out LED's in the foot-wells and sound bar also.

Before and after pics below.

I think I have that same system ;)

I cut a 3” hole in the tub to solve the upper rear shock mount broken bolt issue. Then I welded a 11/16” nut on the stud and brought it out the top with an impact.

I’m still trying to decide if what I did was genius, lazy or half-assed.

I did save the piece I cut out to weld back in at a later date if the mood hits me.

Btw, Rancho 5000x ARE, in fact, all they are cracked up to be.

Here’s pics....

Decided to do the RUBICON locker switch mod.
The mod is to be able to lock your axles in any drive position, 2wd, 4hi and of course 4lo.
It was really easy and looks like it works just as advertised. There are a few different ways to do this mod and some people add a switch to cancel the mod, but I just wired it direct. I did it the way it shows in the second graph which is the same way as using a cut out switch, just without the switch..

And the proof is in the pudding....
You can see the lock lights on the panel and the transfer case shifter position..
Mmmmmm........ pudding........

I went and picked up my $300 CL find........a Smittybilt hardtop in perfect condition! Now to find full doors and paint, or preferably some good fiberglass uppers. I'll probably end up getting those new....those ARE next to impossible to find!
