What did you do to your TJ today?

Got my steering shaft installed finally and some under the dash wires rerouted. Put some new loom on some of the wires under the dash and under the hood. Took it out for a test drive and the clunk in my steering is gone🙌🏻 Next I’ll be working on the transfer case drop spacers to work on the geometry of the rear drive shaft. It’s a never ending adventure lol

Finally pulled the trigger on a Trektop NX twill. Switching from an original OEM soft top. Got a great price on it from Amazon Warehouse and it’s brand new. Also….no tramp stamp!

Also switched over to the half doors til October.

Edit: can confirm it’s a complete bitch to install. Tight as a MFing drum.

I'm interested in how you like red head gear box, seems like their reviews started going bad lately. I have slop in my box and I'm debating on just going with PSC box.
I've had a red head for the last year or so. It's been great. It doesn't really feel any different than the stock except that it doesn't leak all over.

Culpeper isn't exactly a tourist hot spot. They do have this though! :ROFLMAO:

I missed that. My wife thought she deserved a 2017 Jeep Renegade with 45,000 miles for $15,000. I told her it's listed at $17,000-18,000. I noticed the paint on the entire front end was slightly off. Wrecked and shit paint/body work.

Was it at least the trail rated one? :ROFLMAO:

I should have started a build thread when I first joined the forum but figured I was already close to the end of the build so I didn’t….. Now I’ve done high lines, installed a trans cooler, done lots of maintenance work, swapped shocks for the 4-5th time, made a DIY front bumper and in the process of making my own sliders, rear bumper plate and rear tire mount. On top of all of that, I’m building a HP30. Hell im even considering building a HP44 out of an old f-150. May end up starting a build thread soon enough.

Anyways, last night I got my blackmax shocks installed. For the rear I didn’t use the “socket mod” but I moved them up to the top of the stock location. Gave me an extra .5” of uptravel. On the front I’m at 4.25” of uptravel and 4” of uptravel in the rear. This is not ideal but my near future plans will fix this.

In the front on the HP30 I’m building I’m going to remove the stock axle mount and weld in one that will lower the mount about 1.5”. With my current suspension setup 5.75” of uptravel is all I can afford before my tire comes in contact with my fender. The rest will be down travel. I may change out my front springs and spacer and use a taller spring with a .5” or .75” spacer to get me the room to have 6” of uptravel in the front. We will see.

In the rear I’m going to be dropping a lot of weight and switching springs. Based on my math that should put me at about 5-5.5” of uptravel. Which will give me a near perfect split on travel. I’ll be waiting on ordering new springs until I drop the weight.

Picture below shows 5.75” of up travel and its limit on my Jeep. Next picture is of the rear shock mount.
